Turbine fan guide (Not for the faint of heart)

This may be split up into 2 threads, It has LOTS of pictures.

SHEA Technologies Case bought for $20 at used electronics store.
Any case with a partially flat bezel will work.

    120mm & 92mm fan ducts
    avail here

    Making 120mm & 92mm fan hole templates

    3.5" & 4.5" Hole Saw Attachments.
    3.5" =
    92mm fan, 4.5" = 120mm fan

Hole saw attachment on Power Drill

Panaflo 120mm & 92mm Fan holes in bezel.

Use Fan Ducts to mark off fan hole locations in chassis.

Using Hole Saw attachment to make fan holes

    92mm Panaflo FBK and 120mm NMB-MAT

    Install Fan Grommets and U-channel

Cut down Fan Ducts to fit between bezel and chassis

    Reinstall modified bezel onto chassis

    Duct Tape

Duct Tape any open gaps between Fan Ducts and bezel.

Duct Tape used for gaps between Fan Duct and Bezel

Evercoat brand "Short Hair" Fiberglass Filler

Cutting the Automotive Body Filler Spreader into smaller pieces
    makes it easier to use.

Evercoat Fiberglass dries quickly!!! (5 minutes)
So only mix and apply small portions at a time.

Mixing included Hardener with Evercoat "Short Hair" Fiberglass filler.

Shown above is the typical amount of Filler I mix per application.
More than this is wasted because Evercoat gets hard within 5 minutes.

Overlap the edges of the Fan Ducts with Filler

Keep applying Evercoat Filler until the lip of the Fan Ducts
and the bezel surface have blended together.

Black & Decker Mouse Sander used to sand the filler.

Wear a Ventilator Mask when sanding Fiberglass filler!

    Sanding Evercoat Fiberglass filler

It's strongly recommend to do your sanding outside.
    Fiberglass Filler gets very dusty!!

    SEM brand Flexible Primer

I applied 3 even coats of SEM brand Flexible Primer.

Primer reveals small pitting (pin holes) in the Evercoat Filler.

Dab Filler over small pitting (pin holes), re-sand and re-spray area.

    Primed and ready for paint.

    Plasti-kote Engine Enamel
    Hot Rod Green #199

Paint backside of Fan Ducts first.

I've applied 6 coats of Plasti-kote Engine Enamel.
    Hot Rod Green #199

1-3/4" size R/C Plane Prop Spinner fits 120mm Panaflo fan
1-1/2" size R/C Plane Prop Spinner fits
    92mm Panaflo fan

Use a good epoxy for applying the prop spinner to the fan.
    I prefer
    3M Scotch-Weld DP-190 2 part epoxy for maximum adhesion.

    Mixing 2 part epoxy.

    Applying 3M Scotch-Weld DP-190 to 1-3/4" R/C plane prop spinner.

1-3/4" size R/C Plane Prop Spinner epoxied to 120mm Panaflo fan

    Panaflo 120mm & 92mm fan re-installed into modified chassis.

    Painted Bezel re-attached.

It's coming together... What shall we do next?

    120mm & 92mm Blue led fans.
Tek-Chain fans come with remote adjustable speed control.

Blue led fans attached to Panaflo 120mm & 92mm fans
with 8/32 x 5/8" long socket head screws
    sold here

    Looks awesome!
