[How To] Make A "Shutdown" Shortcut

Hey guys. I learned how to create a shortcut and then when you click on it your windows will shutdown. Made by GodOfWar (Illidan_000).


1.Right click on the desktop and create a new shortcut.
2.At the "Type the location of the item" write : shutdown.exe -s -t 15 -c "Write a text here"
NOTE*:The "15" means the seconds before shutdown and the text means what text will appear before shutdown. Example "Your Windows will shutdown."
3.Then you must write the shortcut name at "Type a name for this shortcut"
Put what name you want there.
Example : Winamp Skins

NOTE*: If you accidentally click on it and the windows gonna shutdown go to Start then click on "Run" and write "shutdown.exe -a"
without the quotes.

u dont even need the shutdown.exe part if ur going to use WIN+R

shutdown -a will abort any shutdown process currently in progress shutdown.exe is the executable it calls to handle the shutdown procedure and what flags ur using

and there isnt a message box with just the message u type in the ""'s .... it comes up as a countdown timer -- so they will kno that it was a shutdown -s initiated command...also any windows that dont close automaticlly and could interupt the progress will do it because of a missing flag

the best current run-command line to do a shutdown would be

Shutdown -s -f -t 60 -c "Message"

the -f flag says to "force" programs to close...it sends a WM_WINDOWKILL like message, instead of a WM_WINDOWCLOSE message...

lol nice, i used this and added the wc3 icon on a friends pc and he was like wtf when he tried to start wc3 ;D
