How to change your ip

With this guide you will learn how to change your ip. If you are facing ip-problems with double ip-adresses then this guide might help you to solve the problem and get your network running again. This guide also helps if you are facing an IP-ban on certain computer games. First of all i use a Danish version of Windows, consequently my screenshots are not in English - sorry for that .

1) Go to Start -> Run And type in as shown in the picture (NOTE: Make a space between the first word and the slash else it will give you an error)

- Now a black box should appear for some seconds, And your internet should be disabled like you see in the picture:

2) Now go to "My Network Places" Can be found in the control panel, find your connection, Right click on it and go down to properties like shown below (NOTE: Egenskaber= properties )

4) Now a new box appears, go down and find the following: Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) as shown below.

Double click it and another box appears Picture:

5) Press the option which says: Use the following Ip Adress, and type in some random numbers, and then press "Ok"
A dialog box should appear with the following error:

Translated to english: You have entered an address that is missing its submask. Please add a subnet mask

6) Press "ok" again so nothing is opened anymore! Now your connection will say its opened again, which it isn't really, So go back again to "My network places" Look at the picture:

THIS time you select: Obtain an Ip Address Automatically
- Press Ok, And Ok again and you should now have changed your IP If this didn't changed it, try again, if it didn't changed the third time, you did something wrong

Enjoy

Thanks for this guide. Yes this works if you want to change your network IP-address.

But does this change your online IP-Adress as well?

Don't forget guys, do not give not reputation is something is useful. A lot of people really need it. Not to forget, I find it quite pleasant to see that someone honors your work =].

Haha. Yes:

Pictures ftw. You can try using a program named "Snagit". It really simplifies taking screenshots .

That takes a lot of time. With snagit you can capture a certain window . No need to cut anything then .

I got banned on a privet warcraft server. And i tried to do this and a couple other ways. It didn't work.
I called my provider, and they said it changes like maybe once a year. Does anybody else have any other ways?
