RAM upgrade

This is a discussion on RAM upgrade within the Computer guides forum part of the Software/Hardware category; I was wondering if i should get this or not - does this just addon to the computer, and will ...

RAM upgrade

I was wondering if i should get this or not - does this just addon to the computer, and will it make it so i can play better games

RAM increase your performance a lot, and many games require at least 2gb RAM, so I suggest you to upgrade RAM.

the only thing u need noadays for games is a good GFX card and at least 1 gig of ram unless u use vista then u need 2 gigs

Fail. You need RAM for almost every new game, for an example Hellgate: London is 3 gig RAM recommended.

I have 2GB Ram And still I need a 256 mb video card =P

so how do i install it? is there just a slot to put it in, does it depend on the desktop?
oh and what is the best kind for gaming, unless they're all the same

ram is ram, and there should (depending on desktop) just be an open slot inside for it, but you would have to check with your PC manufacturer for assistance on where to stick it...

and from system requirements lab, for hellgate- london- System RAM Recommended: 3 GB

and damn, i only have 1000mb ram... geze
