Hi there!
I would like to know if there are anyone in this "postroom" who know if i can install material hacks for css on my MAC. I can download the material hack and that, but i just can't find the counter strike folders. (fx steam/steamapps/*myusername*/cstrike/materials)

I downloaded the file,
Moved my \steam\steamapps\<accountfolder>\counter-strike source\cstrike\materials to a diff location
Placed the transperancy materials in there in the REAL materials place

and when i play the people (cts and ts) are red and blue (perfect)
BUT the maps are just a bunch of purple and black squares

Any help please??

Yea, i normally get black and purple squares due to me alt+tabing in and out of games, its not a bug with the hack (it could be but pretty sure it isnt) its just ur graphics messing up abit... maybe you minimised the game or changed to a different screen.. it happens alot, its just your cs:s graphics messing up.. restarting the game would most likely fix your problem.. if worse comes to worse you might have to reinstall the game :<

try just copying the regular materials folder back into your cstrike directory, then overwriting it with PT3. make sure to keep a copy of your originals!!!!

black and purple squares means your files arent in the right place and counter-strike cant find them. replacing the original files, and then overwriting them usually solves this. Also, if you get the error on nuke, or another hdr map, turn off your bloom settings, should make your css work fine with those maps.

Help! Who haves material folder? I didnt backup it accidentally and now i have all maps transparent when i dont want

This hack does not work on some maps, including de_dust and de_nuke. Some combination of the textures makes those and other maps appear extremely dark with a black box blocking the screen.

If someone could look into and fix this, the hack would be perfect.

I have a quick little question, I want to keep the scope and hand models, which files do I remove from materials folder to accomplish this? Thanks to anyone who answers!

Hey, Im going to assume you are using Crossover as a way to run Steam on your mac. To find the css files on your mac:

Open Finder => Library => Application Support => CrossOver => Bottles => <name of bottle steam is in> => drive_c => Program Files => Steam
