Recently, as you may have noticed, plenty of users are creating new accounts and scamming members of our community. Whether or not many of them are scammers, I have no idea. The section is filled with new users who will just create new accounts to feedback themselves and thus fool users into going first. Even though its stated that users always take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe trade, there are plenty who do fall for such scams. This is what I propose:
1) User(s) should have a join date of at least a month before being allowed to visit the market section.
2) User(s) should have a certain combination of rep/post/feedback to engage in a trade.
3) User(s) should pay a fee if they refuse to have any of these limits.
4) User(s) have to provide a screenshot of the product they are offering.
Now, the reason I propose such options is simple; reduce the scammers around here.
For one, a user can simply create a new account and continue with their scheme. It takes literally 3 minutes to do this but if we have limits, we can significantly reduce their efforts in scamming.
Just my suggestions and I think it will fit well with this community.
As for scammers getting caught and having the option to return, they should also be penalized.
1) They will have to refund the victim.
2) They will lose 100 reputation.
3) They will have a rank such as *Convict* so members will be more alarmed.
I mean some of those are a little bit carried away however I do agree with you on the part that says " User(s) should have a certain combination of rep/post/feedback to engage in a trade. "
I agree with all of this...

I would agree with all of this also, but you also have to look at the fact that many of d3scene's new members are joining to use the marketplace. If they join and cannot use it, then there is no chance for d3scene to benefit from it. There are some new members that join just to advertise their services and such, and pay to upgrade their threads, thus d3scene benefits from it. Not that it happens very often, but it does.
This is my thoughts.
I fully agree with this but it requires a certain rep.
Yes, what I put out is just an example. Perhaps a combination of 10 rep and 25 posts should be more than enough. The idea of the combination is to make sure they put an effort into the community because I can guarantee that it will limit the amount of scammers since they would now have to put much more time than needed. I'm not saying it will stop all scammers but seeing as how our community doesn't have to depend on the blackmarket such as some other forums, we can surely make it more enjoyable for the members who come here and participate.
Users who are caught scamming should be suspended asap. D3scene needs a zero tolerance on scamming or attempted scamming.
I agree with a lot of what you say though.
