The Application Process on D3Scene **READ**

    Dear community,

recently we've had reason to discuss about a lot, and one of our solutions is to explain the application process more detailed to you, to give you some insight.

So, let's hear it. Once you submit your application using the Application Board, it is posted on the GMod board for staff to see.

That will look a lot like this.
It is important that you take the application seriously, decide on which subforum you want to moderate and give us a good reason. It's basically a job application, and if you go all 'lulz bcs i'm aweosme pls promote', all we're gonna reply is 'No'.

The next step will be the GMods and Admins voting on your application, discussing and considering all pros and cons that we can come up with to make out whether or not you are suited for the job. This happens by looking at a lot of factors, but mainly it's your attitude, your expertise in the field (if applicable) as well as your overall activity on the forums.
The voting process looks a lot like this.

BUT. Since we often don't agree on everything, we're discussing a lot. An application generally needs like 10-20 replies until we come to terms. Also, we all have a real life, too, so it might take days for us to come to a conclusion. You have to understand this.
Also, (constantly) asking about your application on the Chatbox, on Steam, via PM will NOT better your chances of getting promoted. That only shows us immaturity and impatience.

I hope this gave you some hints on why we take days or even weeks to reply to something. We usually don't just forget about applications. If you've been waiting for more than a week, it's alright to give us a little tap on the head and remind us about it. Just not constantly.

    Best regards, Jolinar

Maybe the "normal moderator's" should've access to this section, too? We could bring up our opinions about users, might be helpful to find a decision. Just a suggestion.

    btw. useful thread!

Agreed, maybe we don't count in the vote, but we could give valid info.

I could only imagine that if it was a separate thread (not the one we're voting in), but nonetheless, it would probably still result in flame wars and hatred. Some people just can't handle someone else's opinion about themselves and some people are just gonna troll.

IMO we have a too large amount of moderators for that and some of them wouldn't show the necessary maturity.

    Take my rep, sir.

By the way, we're 16 moderators, and I don't think everyone of them will participate.

While that is true, you can't expect people to act like robots and act without any anger or never to be upset.

Having Gmods + only being able to view applications was done that way for a reason.

We aren't bias and we take EVERYTHING into consideration. We are completely blunt, honest, and just when it comes to selecting our staff.

As it would be "Neat" to have all the moderators be able to choose the staff, it would be too hectic, too bias, and frankly too out of control.

In no way am I saying that you wouldn't be able to vote accordingly, it's just less "Messy" this way.
