As far as "hacking" goes it is not an easy task to accomplish. You have 2 other alternatives though:
    1. Like above you could make a keylogger using a few simple programs and have the person download it.
    2. Another option would be to setup a phisher which just requires a script and a free web host.

Umm, ever thought of hacking the guys e-mail and messing up his data then?

Social engineering > keylogging. It's easy if you know how to do it.

You're saying it as if it's a 2 min work.
It's not very easy to hack an email.
Atleast not an advanced user's email.
Most email login pages use https (secure hypertext transfer protocol) which makes it harder to crack, aka packets sessions etc are all encrypted (md5 most of the time, not sure though).
You can, of course, go with bruteforcing. But it's definitely not worth it. Once again, depending on the user's password length and charset.

The table would be something like this (for an 8 char password):

    [a-zA-Z0-9]{1,8} ... about 497 days
    [a-z0-9]{1,8} ...... about 6 days
    [a-zA-Z]{1,8} ...... about 6 days
    [A-Z0-9]{1,8} ...... about 6 days

    Not including special chars.
    So, you do the math.

More on topic: it can be done, plenty of exploits around to steal admin session hash. Not going to give any information on how to do it, of course.
I'm not biased. I hate everyone.

this is true, but misses a key point, if you know the person you could hack them in minutes. lets say there a former gf, simply go to her email and look at her forgot password question, if its whats my bogs name, you should probably know, except if it was a one night, but......
so in a nut shell, if you just typed in bob joe and then tried to hack him, you'd have a royally hard time, as show by dragon, 497 days if a hella of a long time. :P
also, if you have money, like said before, just pay someone to do it, contact me if interested, i know someone who can but their mightily expensive. :undecided:
When in doubt, empty the magazine, They dont pay you to bring home bullets
