Necromancer or Witch Doctor?

El Flash you seem a bit angry there. Blizzard is a company. Companies are all about money. Of course they're trying to try and do what sells.

Just because you don't identify with ONE class in the game doesn't mean you won't with another. Shutting out a game based on the entire idea that the company is a money grubbling powerhouse is pretty stupid ;P

No. That doesn't fly. I am angry - enough to bounce whatever shithead made this decision off of every wall in a room. I'll have to settle for not buying their game. Screw em. For screwing with me, they don't get the $$$.

They included the barbarian/sorc because they were some of the more popular classes. Necromancer was not, and in my opinion kinda sucked. Getting rid of that class just leaves room for new ones, which will probably be unique and fun. But I suppose we'll wait and see

Kind of odd . Witches sort of represent evil in the world, and doctors represent the good.

It will be interesting to see how Blizzard copes with this issue. Obviously, as El Flesh mentions, there is a brigade of Diablo 2 players who loved the necromancer and would really like to see him making a return in Diablo 3. However, on the other hand, change often is for the better; you might end up liking the witch doctor even more than the necromancer.

I wonder how different their abilities will be. Hopefully Blizzard will not disappoint us and provide very few new skills – I personally would like to see a whole new variety of skills brought into play. It was certainly fun to be able to summon ridiculous amounts of skeletons but this could get very annoying when trying to pass through narrow areas such as the stairs at the entrance to the Arcane Sanctuary.

I am sure whatever Blizzard decides to do, the witch doctor will have plenty of abilities to keep players happy. I don’t personally think that it is a character I will be using too often though. The necromancer was fun to play around with in Diablo 2 but I never really got into using him much – my speciality was the sorceress.
