    Pixel Get Color

Hi, I've tried to get the color of a pixel inside the game. And it works only in certain areas (I suppose the areas Valve wants).

For example, if I want to get the color from a pixel which is inside de minimap, it will return 0x000000, instead of the true color.

If I check for a pixel in the main map, for example, a tower, it gives me the color.
If I try to check for a pixel over a creep, it will give me again 0x000000.

I think this is obviously something Valve did to avoid pixel scans. Is there any way you know to check them anyway?

What did you use to get the color at said location? Also, did you make sure the tool you're using does check INGAME and not 'behind' the actual window (e.g. your desktop).

This will sound like I am a noob (and I am ), but I used AHK to scan an area from the minimap.

Answering your second question, yes, it looks like I checked for the window. But I think I can't check ingame with AHK.

Did you start DotA2 windowed? (Were you able to increase/decrease the windows size?)
I personally used a tool by AutoIt to get information about the client, ...

No, it's full screen. As far as I know, when the game is fullscreen, you see the screen game but the computer sees a black screen, and that's why I get a 0x000000 color.

About what you use (AutoIt), is it also in full-screen? And the information you get is reading the memory? (I am scared of reading memory from Dota 2 because of VAC).

It probably does the same your tool does.
I recommend adding -windowed to your DotA2 shortcut and adjust the window to your needs. As far as I know reading the pixelcolor from a fullscreen application won't work flawlessly.

There's no reason to be worried about VAC and memory reading. If you're doing pixel stuff, I recommend using AutoIt.
