Like I was told when the map is loaded you can learn how the triggers work and all, but i'm using the second one with XDeP, I unprotect the map and all but no triggers exist!

They're there but they are in JASS rather then GUI... so if you want to
view triggers after using Xdep you'll want to learn Jass... heh

Ah.. So that means I can't get a hero from a map?
I'd have to either learn Jass, or get someone to do it for me?
Like the game is a save-load game, and I wanna get the hero saved.

Sure you can you just got to extract the unit data from the map...
You can do this by opening the map with MPQMaster then
right-click on war3map.w3u (extract file) and then opening a map in World Editor
then go to the Unit/buildings editing and click file and import unit data
then it will put all the units from the map into it...

I mean, but what I want to do is be able to save it, but the trigger won't work, as if says there is no trigger.
Never mind, figured out that part, just gotta test this too see if it works.

Well if you just extracted the unit data from one
map to the one you want it in then it should
be all good... though it might overweight
some unit data but just the ones that come with
the map...

So im trying to deprotect a map, mainly just to say that i can. Ive followed the steps but i am having problems with xdep. Now ive copied and pasted the map i want to deprotect into the xdep folder and changed the name like the directions said. Now I get this error:


i dont really know what im doing wrong here. i dont want to post the map here yet because i want to try to deprotect the map myself. thanks for the help.

Your missing the Xdep.ini file... it looks like this -->
Just download it again...

This guide was really good just that i had such a problem: when i added cheats to map without unprotecting it, i tried to play it but when i was about to host it, it said that the file war3map.j was corrupted. Please i need help.

You'll need to delete the (attributes) file

but what happens if somebody host a hacked map and the other players who want to join have the map with that name already, but not hacked?
must they dowload it again and their old map gets overwrited, or will the game crash?

(thats a theoretic question i havent tried it, else i would not ask^^)

I hav been trying 2 deprotect/add cheats to sum maps i think they hav infinite loop protection..im not noob 2 deprotection however it seems sum maps with infinite loop or similar hav gotten the best of me...final fantasy epic rpg and master crafters...i add cheats/remove the anti-cheat system(note:this happens with dota aswell)...i am succesful in doing so...i also delete (attributes) so i see the map in warcraft but wen i try open it for lan it boots me back to the lobby...i hav also tried 2 open in single player but wen i select the map (NOT start it) I cannot see in player slots so i cannot play...PLEASE NOONE DEPROTECT IT FOR ME!!! But could sum1 plz plz plz tell me wat im doing wrong i will be ever so grateful

Well if you can't even start the map there's something wrong with the basics of the map. You can start every map, no one can make a map protection not letting you even load the map. So go through everything I guess you messed something important up.

How? I just do evry step ryt i mean it jst i mean come on...I open in with mpq with my list file...i extract the .j file...i open it with jasscraft...delete/add sum code (yes i tied urs aswel) save the .j import it...put it bak in...try load the map with warcraft and it wont let me in...iv seen lyk 1 or 2 other ppl with this prob aswel...sumtyms i deprotect completely with X-dep...it works...i try add a trigger...save it succesfully...try open in warcraft boom bak 2 creat game plz plz plz help

edit:do some maps possibly check if they have any changes made...if so plz tell me wat the trigger to check triigers(lol) is

Alright, so, I tried this deprotection, and it worked fine. I also put in the cheats, which seemed to work fine. Then, suddenly, about three minutes into the game, War3 just crashed. Now I know nothing about JASS, so I was wondering if someone could possibly help me out here by putting in the cheats and hopefully removing the crashing (or at least figuring out what causes it).

Hey I am new to this and yes I am a Noob.

The method I am using is:
3. Adding cheats without deprotection

I do everything correct till I get to the part where I add the cheats to the war3map.j file. When I load my map (Footmen Frenzy v4.2 -AR) and type

-cheats on

I see on the screen Cheats enabled

Then when I try to use the other commands like

-gold 1000

nothing happens. And nothing happens with all other commands I tried them all.

Yes...I said that in the other post <_<...Oh hey guys well I havn't been able to put stuff INTO the map but I can delete stuff out (anti-cheat system),I have only tried it one map but its one of the maps that doesnt usually open/load, yes i've tried deleting the usual way and it didnt work but I added one more step which was to also use the WarcraftIII aswell as the map Listfiles YAY!!! But still I'll give it another shot soon(now ^_^) and tell you if I figure anything out

edith whoops,by yes I meant no I deleted attributes...I know how to deprotect maps but...the protection people are coming up with is getting sticky,some of us de/unprotectors are getting behind...DON'T LET THE PROTECTORS WIN!!!

edit- OMFGX!!! I'm so frickin happy I could cry (figure of speech <_<)...I DID IT!!! WOOT! Just use the WarcraftIII listfile ASWELL as the one you got from your map (if that makes sense) Oh and btw I'm only solving my own (+ a few others)problem NOT everyones so read back a few posts if you have the same problem or are curious ^_^

edit(again)- Yes my sweet success has led me somewhere but still REMOVING BLOODY TRIGGERS can get annoying (even if you know JASS), the thing that is bugging me SOO MUCH is defi4nce's No Single Player trigger...grr I removed evry part with the text no single player or no_single_player and any globals/locals/etc that had anything 2 do with it (and I checked I hadn't killed the map) but then I find out his bloody determeination for no cheats...theres this trigger called firebolt which lets u load/save but is also mixed in with a bit of the no single player...grrrrrrrr...i cud proly add cheats but then i cant play by myself stil...Ill figure out how to not play defi4nce...i mean...crack it ^_^...hope my tip b4 helped...i no it was o lets say EXTREMELY OBVIOUS but i had become so annoyed i had 4gotten that step and seeing as ur tut duznt hav it i thought id giv the noobs a boot to the head!!

Enabling single player can be tricky, though if you know
what you are looking for, it can be quite easy...

Try searching for PLAYER_SLOT_STATE_PLAYING then
look for somthing maybe under that is like for example:
A=A+1
Though if endfunction is the next line then look for what is
calling this function by searching the function in the script,
You can do this by Ctrl+F and type function in and select
case sensitive and whole words, Click next and keep doing it
till you see like if <function name>=true then
set A=A+1
then look for if A=1 or A<1 then
DisableTrigger(<SinglePlayerTrigger>)
This is just an example... Hope this helps
