Okay. Here is a riddle for you guys:
Three people have been captured by an executioner. He tells them that they will be put on one mask each, and that he has 2 red, and 2 blue masks. Then he says that if one of them can guess what color they have on their own mask, all three will go free. If one answers wrong, everybody gets killed.
- Person 1 gets a red mask. Person 2 and Person 3 sees this.
- Person 2 gets a blue mask. Person 3 sees this.
- Person 3 gets a red mask.
Now the question for you is: Who can with certainty know what color he has on his mask, and how?
Neither of the persons guess, and it is not the executioner
None of the 3 people know. Person number 3 knows that the first 2 have a red and a blue, but there is a red and a blue left. Person 2 knows just that person 1 has a red mask. Person 1 knows nothing. Your either forgetting to tell us something or this is a trick question.
EDIT: No poosc, Person 2 only saw that person 1 had a red mask on. For all he/she knew, person 3 has a blue mask on.
It is not a trick question, nor something left untold. (the remaining blue mask is irrelevant btw)
Poosc, in order for people to see what masks other people have, they need to have no mask themselves. And it is in an order. Person 1 puts a mask on, and the other two see it because they have no masks. Person 2 puts a mask on, and only person 3 knows it because he has no mask on. Person 3 puts a mask on and nobody sees it because everyone has masks on already. The order is Person 1, 2, 3.
They never put the masks on, they just "got" them
Then, knowing they would get killed if they couldn't find out what color their own mask is, they turn away and dont watch everyone else "get" masks? I dont think so Sorry Pan.
There is no communication between the persons.
Poosc, if P1(Person 1) has a red mask, P2 has a blue, then there is one blue and one red left, then it is 50% chance. Noone is guessing so you are wrong.
