Riddle of teh Impeanding Doom

In a far away land, there is an unusual tribe of 300 perfectly logical and perfectly intelligent people. Each member has a visible spot on the back of his or her head, some are red and some are black. Nobody knows the color of their own spot, but they do know the color of everyone else's. If a tribesman ever realizes the color of his own spot it is strict custom that he publicly commit suicide the following morning, so they never mention spot colors, and have no mirrors. But then one day an American tourist visits this land and announces to the entire tribe: "I can see that at least one of you has a red spot." The tourist leaves and returns a year later. What has happened?

Everyone died. Because, everyone got told what spots they had by others, eg "You have the red spot. Kill yoursellf." And anybody not told this obviously had the other color, so they had to kill themself too.

Everyone killed themself not knowing what color they had but eventually they would get taken ovr by curiosity? If they THINK they know what color they had, they need to kill themselves.

Everybody died. Cuz' they knew that everyone except the King or Emperror or whatever have a Black dot. So only the king has a Red dot, and everyone else seems to have black ones. Then everyone since they are smart, know they have black ones, so they kill themselfes. The King finds out everybody else had black dots, and no one had Red, and the American tourist said, there was one of them that had a red one, King knows it's him, and kills himself.

when the tourist comes back he sees only the guys with the black spots
