This unlock will work on the 3G, the 3GS and the 2G.

Geohot (Georgehotz) announced it on his website. He furthermore criticizes all the websites trying to sell you iPhone unlocks. I think it's a good step because they are just reselling his unlocks.

I am really excited about this and hope that unlocking will be possible again.

You just go to Aerix and register. After registration you can download the tool and run it.

  Its easy to use just be sure your battery is at 100%.
  Take out your battery and sim card and then reinsert your battery. Connect your phone to PC with the cable and hold C
  while you do that. The program should detect your phone then then you just let the tool do it work. it shouldn't take long.

Also you should install phone drivers.
