How to hack almost every game at Kongregate!

When this subforum was created, Kongregate had a littbit different layout, and that made it possible to hack using a program called "Niflheim". This does not longer work, so therefore some of these guides may not be appropriate here. But there is a sol editor in Niflheim that you can still use though, if you know where to find the game.

As stated below, this is a 'work in progress' and will take some time to complete. Headings that are fully ready for use have been colored will be the same color as the ATTENTION above. If the heading is still black, the entry is incomplete, but will be finished soon. Walkthroughs will be posted on the links as soon as possible, but all sources are already located, it just takes time to clean up the formatting and re-post them, no need to send in more information, but thank you for your intent.

This is a guide, a work in progress, to gather all of the information on Badge games and how to achieve them in the simplest means possible.

NOTE: To find a specific games, use Ctrl-F to search for the title.

A WORD OF CAUTION: It is strongly recommended that you do not try to use the methods below to obtain enormous scores, as the staff will commonly remove scores that appear to be the work of hacking or cheating, and may issue a warning or even ban your account. Instead, it is best to merely obtain the necessary goal and leave it at that.

CHEAT ENGINE

Cheat Engine is your basic memory editor used to change variables in any program that isn't encrypted or "sensitive" to it otherwise. A basic tutorial is included with Cheat Engine so make sure to run through it if you are new to memory editing. Also note that when searching for variables in flash the number you are looking for could be multiplied by 8, 16, or 24. For example, if you are looking for 3 and cannot find the correct address try searching for 24, 48, and 72. Most flash files use multiples of 8 and very rarely 16 or 24.

When connecting to Cheat Engine to the game you are playing, remember to look up your browser and not the name of the game. If you use Internet Explorer you'll connect to iexplorer.exe and Firefox is firefox.exe. On rare occasions i find that i need to dedicate a window to the game I'm playing rather then running it in a "tab" inside a window, I'm not sure why this is but it stands true. You may notice with Firefox that no matter how many windows there are it will only show up once in Cheat Engines process listing, this is why i find it easier and more reliable to use Internet Explorer when editing, yes you can use that one Firefox process but you'll end up with just that many more results.

NIFLHEIM (OUTDATED!)

Niflheim is a very powerful and very easy to use program in hacking and editing games on Kongregate.com. It allows you not only to edit memory like Cheat Engine, but to edit flash save files; organize, view and edit all the variables in a game; skip through frames, and many other feature specially oriented to Kongregate.com. It is, without a doubt, the best tool in doing what you need to do to get the badges you want. With advanced knowledge you can even create you own levels in many games like Protector, Smileys War, and any other game that has dynamic levels stored in their variables. Anyone familiar with Cheat Engine should feel rather at home with Niflheim. The abilities of this program are too much to summarize in this post, but I promise the more time you spend with it the more, you'll be amazed at its power.

TO USE:
From the "Kongregate" tab at the top, enter your Kongregate username and password. You may check "Remember Me" to save this information for future use (it can be changed later under "Tools" -> Options). At the bottom of the screen, a message will tell you when you are logged in. Under "Kongregate" choose Load Browser, and this will take you to the Kongregate website, where you can navigate to the games as usual. When you choose a game to play, separate boxes will open with Chat and the game, along with a control panel.

If the instructions below tell you to change a variable, such as "Lives", type (or copy & paste) that variable - without quotes - in the Variable Name box. Then you can press "Get Value" to see what the current variable information is. When instructed, you can change the information by putting the new value in the "Set Value" box, the pressing the "Set Value" button. If the instructions tell you to "lock" that variable, click the "Watch" button, and it will be added to the section in the lower right, where you can check a "Lock" box.

There are many more functions, but for following the instructions below, that is all you'll need for now.

The Last Stand

Brief Description: Defend your bunker from waves of zombies attacking.
Playability: Challenging if redundant at times.
Badges: Medium: Play all 20 stages without dying, Hard: Get at least 500 Headshots
Method: Niflheim - For the Medium badge, play a level until only one enemy remains, pause the game, change "_root.totalHeadShots" to 500, then take out the enemy with a leg shot. (Don't continue this game).
CheatEngine - For the Hard badge, start with a value of 80000 and use "smaller value" to find this variable, then freeze it at 80000. The hours spent can be searched (* and changed for faster weapon search. However, all 20 levels must still be played.

Particles

Brief Description: Mouse avoidance with increasing obstacles.
Playability: Pleasand music but extremely difficult
Badges: Easy: Survive at least 50 Seconds, Hard: Survive at least 200 Seconds
Method: CheatEngine - Search for the number of balls on the screen (*, then freeze that value at 0. Play easily for 200 or more seconds, then lose the game.

B29 Assault

Brief Description: Vertical scrolling shooter in the "1941" style game.
Playability: Not too hard, can be beat without help, but can be tiring.
Badges: Medium: Beat all 6 stages
Method: Niflheim - Change "_root.roleLife" to 999 and "_root.stageID" to 5, then begin the game and play one level (with nearly infinite lives) to complete the game.

Four Second Frenzy

Badges: Hard: Beat Endurance Mode
Method: CheatEngine - Search for the number of lives (*, freeze the value, and play through the game to completion.

P.O.D.

Badges: Hard: Beat all 15 Levels
Method: Niflheim - Start a game and change the variable "gLevel.nLevel" to 15. Play for a minute or so, after a long pause the game will be completed.

Gamma Bros

Brief Description: Retro low-resolution space shooter.
Playability: Excessively long and monotonous.
Badges: Hard: Beat all 3 Levels (Note: password GOLVL2 may be used)
Method: Niflheim - begin the game at the ship selection screen, change "level" to 3, and "subLevelNum" to 26. Choose your ship, and proceed until the final boss appears. Change "deathHead.life" to 1 and "deathHeat.permitHit" to true, shoot him once and complete the game.

Generic Defense Game

Playability: Basic but very repetitive.
Badges: Hard: Play Ultimate Survival mode and score at least 100,000 points (Note: 19 Days)
Method: CheatEngine - Search for the score (*, change it to 800,000, and lose the game.

About Ragnarok. It was just made, like a week or two ago, and it does the same things as Niflheim, though I had to get used to it at first. I will update this thread later, but now it is summer so I guess everybody is out anyway, and it's 30 degrees Celsius in the shadows here, so I do not want to stay inside
