    Weird internet problems

So uhm,I was NOT looking porn, when the action stopped.Just stopped.
My modem is turned on and it is working, the computer shows I am connected
to the internet, but the connection just fails.

I tried calling the net fixing guys, but they said everything was fine. So,it works for like ~5 minutes, then it randomly stops working.
After,I have to restart my modem and pray it works, sometimes
    does,sometimes does not.

    So what's up with this?
Both modem and computer show im connected, but I can't.Idk how i managed to get here.
Now im hoping I dont get DCed as I would have to rewrite this lol.

Could it be a spyware or something? Cuz I don't have any antivirus installed atm :p.If it could be,any useful links to download some anti-crap for this?

    Thanks everybody in advance.

oh shit fly panda quickly download a pegram called Malware bytes. Do a full scan then. You may have a virus. When Internet acts up like this it is usually Trojan downloader. So do this and get back to me In the results

That could be the problem, but I have a laptop with Vista and have internet connection problems on it all the time, hence why I asked .

This might help: How to troubleshoot possible causes of Internet connection problems in Windows XP

Maybe it's your ISP. Had the same problem (I'd called them and they said everything is fine). Changed ISP and it worked.

Panda, I think it is a malware/spyware problem. I've had such problems with the internet connection.

Simple way to check but not the best confirmation.

Please check the "sent and the received packets" in your connection, if you see a drastic increase[more than your normal] the activity in a short period of time without you downloading anything : confirm it is as a spyware/malware problem.

At times some spywares manage to cause problem even if you have installed any anti-virus.
