    Wink What Laptop?? [+rep for help]

    Hey.
    I need a other laptop. Basically, it needs to handle a lot of programs and games such as CSS/WoW/TF2. However, I want a Dell and there are two I would like. I do not know which one to get (Prices are in GBP btw)

    Laptop 1 - Dell Inspiron 15R - Price: 499 GBP

    Memory = 4096MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x2048]
    Hard Drive = 500GB (5400RPM) Serial ATA Hard Drive
    Processor = Intel CoreTM i3-380M Processor (3M Cache, 2.53 GHz)
    Graphics = 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
    LCD = 15.6" High Definition (1366x768) WLED

    Laptop 2 - Dell Inspiron 15R - Price: 599 GBP

    Memory = 4096MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x2048]
    Hard Drive = 640GB (5400RPM) Serial ATA Hard Drive
    Processor = Intel CoreTM i5-380M Processor (3M Cache, 2.66 GHz)
    Graphics = 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
    LCD = 15.6" High Definition (1366x768) WLED

    For the laptop I will be buying accidental protection and a new wireless mouse while I'm there. Any suggestions, comments and thoughts are much thanked and welcome. I will plan to replace my PC with one of these laptops.

    Thanks.

    I don't see it, too.
    B2T:
    If you want a gamer laptop, let me point the requirements for it:
    Intel core i5/i7 processor
    atleast 500 GB HDD
    >3 GB Ram
    extra mouse (touchscreen sucks when gaming)
    Windows OS (W8 will be more convinient for gamers, I heard)
    Good GFX

    Thanks for the post. However, I want to stick with the Dell laptops
    Here's a link to one of the ones I found for 499: Inspiron 15R Laptop - Inspiron 15r in vibrant colors |

    There's a other one which can be found here: Inspiron 15R Laptop - Inspiron 15r in vibrant colors | (its the one with the 640 GB Harddrive and i5 processor)

    There both fairly good laptops. I just don't want to waste a extra 100 on a laptop for it to only be slightly better.

    Edit: Got my main post working! It all don't work when I put a currency symbol in such as dollar/pounds.

    Firstly, choosing dell is IMO nice. you are paying more than you would elsewhere for the core parts, but dell is known for also delivering quality not-so-core-parts (read: Harddrive, screen, networkcard, ...)
    When looking at these 2 laptop, it is neither the cpu or harddrive sticking out, but the gfx card.
    The card is WAY more capable of gaming, while the price difference certainly isnt 100gbp, you must consider that swapping the gfx card on laptops is not as easy as on desktop PCs, and you dont have to get rid of the old.
    You should even take the more expensive one when only the GFX-memory is doubled, but the gfx in general is just much better.

    get product 2, unless you almost hit your money-limit with choice 1.

    Secondly, you are overlooking the main part in your small comparison (I suspect you noticed it anyway), the gfx card is WAY more capable of gaming

    ^using CHROME now

    I was comparing laptops under the price of 600. Compared to HP, Samsung and some other laptop make, Dell had the best inside for the price. Not to mention that the design on Dells is awesome. Its got a very expensive look.

    As for the comparing of the 2 Dells I would certainly get the best one out of the two. But on top of that I would need to buy a mouse (Logitech Wireless one), accidental protection (+30 GBP) and maybe a color pick (+20) So that's a extra 50 GBP just for the two, the mouse is around 18 GBP itself.

    I feel that this kind of stuff adds up to quickly=/ I am also selling my PC's parts on eBay. I should be able to cover at least half of the laptop cost(s) I am sure that the other one can play stuff like wow+CSS? I wont game on it much, since ive been playing the xbox more often now

    Also, this is my current PC specs (sorry if I missed anything. First time selling/buying a PC. My Dada normally do this stuff for me)
    Anyone have any idea how much it's worth and if I could get more money from selling on eBay in parts or as a whole desktop.? Thanks again.

    4GB Ram (3x 2GB DDR3 RAM)

    5:1 Surround sound speakers
