Has anyone ever sent their paypal transaction through an wrong e-mail

I was buying a CD-key, and now I'm in trouble.

I was buying a CD-key. The guy's MSN was something very similar to his paypal e-mail(eg. [email protected] and [email protected]). I accidentally sent it to [email protected], which is his MSN account. He tells me that he doesn't have access to that account. He did tell me that his e-mail was roflcopter10, but I didn't realize. The transaction is complete. I can't create a dispute as it was sent as a gift. What now?

Same here. I minimize both screens and copy n paste it several times to make sure they are 100% the same.

    There's nothing you can do.
If I helped you... thanks and are greatly appreciated!

Haha, sorry bro, nothing at all you can do.
I did the exact same thing, but had copied +pasted someone elses email from earlier.. ending up sending some lucky person $50USD.

I even tried to convince paypal someone logged on my account, and sent the money.... never ended good.

I think I remember reading of a scammer who sent money as a gift, and then got it back through a dispute with paypal. The logic applied was "since it was a gift, and you provided nothing in return, you lose nothing if he gets the money back".

I would recommend calling paypal's customer service phone ###. Calling them makes a huge difference as opposed to emailing them. Granted, your giving them the same story/information, but they receive far more 'story/scams' via email, and kind of 'look down' on email disputes.

As far as convincing them someone else logged into your account; they have logs of the IP addresses that have logged into your account over the past few years. IP addresses are geologically identifiable, so they can see if your account was logged in from your own town, or from a town 12038943 miles away.

People do this on purpose, so I bet anything that guy does have access to that PayPal. You can probably dispute this with PayPal if he has both of those emails tied to one account.
