So I'm trying to sell a laptop. The laptop cost around 900 bucks. Its an Toshiba Satellite R15-S822. I bought it new. I'm selling it on Derp list for 400. I wiped it, and slapped a fresh windows 7 on it. I am aware that almost every day a new and better laptop comes out. But this one hasn't really had an upgrade for it in a long time. It is selling for 600 used now. Anyway...The ONLY problem it has, is that it is missing the backspace key. I figured hey, you save 200 bucks go F'in buy a new key. I had a guy bid 200 bucks. He owns a computer shop and tried to play me for a chump. He said " I'm taking 200 bucks off for the defects."
This was his explanation of the defects...
1. The backspace key.
2. He wants to "Wipe it and Clean it and put a new OS on it"
3. Its used
I told him that it would just be stupid if he did that. That I already did that. He said it is part of his "Business Ethic".
I then said these exact words.
"Dude, Why would you want to do that if I already did it. That would be like going to buy a used car, telling the dealer to knock 50% off the price because you wanna replace the engine in the car with the exact same engine."
So it ends up I declined his lame offer in the end.
But does this make any sense to anyone? I thought I'd put this on here for you guys to debate over.Whose side would you be on?
