Rep Power: 4 | | | Flaming section: Keep or Trash? Have a look at our store
It is clear that D3S is having a problem with flaming. Being a lot less active then during the summer, I do not have the time to look at every small case of flaming but I will try to actualy go to the core of the problem: the flaming wars section.
Since D3S is somewhat a democratic community, I guess we could make all of the members vote for what they think about that section. I do however think that all opinions are not egual. When voting, please consider everything. I tried to make a small pros/cons of having such a section. Feel free to post more if you find others and I'll add them to my post if I consider them good.
Pros:
-There is a reason why almost all forums have one.
-People can settle down their problems there.
-If you don't like seeing immature kid argue about stupid things, all you have to do is never visit that particular section.
-It keeps people from flaming in other place.
Cons:
-A flame wars section can CREATE problems. In fact, if you do not have a place to flame, you won't.
-There is no particular limit to when flaming gets out of hand and this so, it is hard to justify bans.
-People can settle their problem on MSN/PM so why have such a section?
-Such a section may attract immature members. Check out our store | | D3scene |

Rep Power: 4 | | Yes with the 2 hour long conversation I had with Kamikaze . And lol, I just realised you are Endergamer (or something like that!)
Please add some reason, that was just a personal brainstorm =). And if you vote for the third option, please say what would have to be the condition for there are already certain rules in the flaming wars section, but it is clear that we can't justfy any ban/infraction with them for they are ''subjective''
And sorry for the edit lo, i had answered just like in the ''Ask blueisimba'' thread using the ----------- lol . |

Rep Power: 9 | | | if we do keep the flame section, it would need MUCH tighter rules and regulations.
suggestions from me-
1- only person who starts flame and person who it is to may post
2- no posts count from flame section
3- appoint a moderator just for flame section
4- dont allow threads to go over certain number of pages |

Rep Power: 9 | | thats where the designated flame wars mod comes in (please not me ) he sits his ass there, and if someone posts, immediate deletion. everyone else would need to help too of course, but it could be done. |

Rep Power: 4 | | | But then, why couldn't they just settle it via PM? I mean, if only the two of them are aloud to post, then it becomes a bit like a private conversation, aka MSN... |

Rep Power: 2 | | | It's a Flaming Section. People go there to flame other people for whatever reason they have. If you put restrictions on it then there's no reason to have that, and if you don't have one then it will spill into all the other threads.
I think you should put a warning sticky in there that says Language and certain material usually goes on there. As for banning people for flaming is really stupid in my opinion. Why? Well flaming usually leads to adult language, etc, and apparently people are getting banned for over-flaming which is simply stupid.
But I do think there could be some things that need to be changed. I think that the Flaming Section should be monitored every time there's a new thread to see if the thread actually has a legitimate reason to be made. (Not just there to create spam) |

Rep Power: 3 | | | Keep it so people can let of some steam,if it goes then people are just going to flame in other threads instead, however if people are really stupid and just flame other people with no reason then mby restrict them from that section.
So i vote "keep it with certain restrictions"
edit: woops voted "keep it" can someone change my vote to "keep it with certain restrictions" |

Rep Power: 2 | | | a way to completely wipe the problem out, is make a rule of no flaming, or u will be warned.
three warns and you get banned for a period of time. TO be honest i think the flame section was put there for a gimmick only, ive used it 3 times. Since April. SO i suggest that d3scene just makes a no tolerance to any sort of flame, which then will either create a lot of less unbanned people, people who want to flame but think of the consequences or people who will do the right thing and not flame. When you think about it, flaming doesn't help the matter it makes it worse, there should maybe be a system in place where a user can alternatively block a user, or have some option to remove a users posts, pms, and name. which wont take effect on other accounts just the account who blocks who. |

Rep Power: 3 | | | or we can do as volund suggested (bad gram>,<) and set a mod there "all" the time. and he sees when it goes to far, and may give some infraktions??
i dont mean all the time, if one or two persons have a "overwatch" there as long as possible. one at day and one at night maybe?? or someting like that?? | | D3scene |
