    I use Camtasia Studio 7 for desktop recordings and Fraps for ingame recordings.

    I used to edit my videos with either Adove After Effects (costs quite a lot <.<), Camtasia 7 Studio (comes with everything actually. Fits the personal needs overall) OR Sony Vegas Pro.
    It's up to you, some people even enjoy Windows Movie Maker.

    I use Camtasia Studio 7 generally for both. Sometimes i use fraps.

    For In-Game footage, Fraps or PlayClaw, prefer PlayClaw.

    For Desktop footage i prefer Camtasia Studio.
