So, good cpu, gfx card, and motherboard
Your fast components will be dragged down by slower ones. So if you buy a 500$ graphic card and a 50$ CPU, your Graphic card will not work as intended. So yeah, try to keep all of your hardware in same strength/price range and you will have the best optimized perfomance.
So not only you will need a strong CPU and MB to handle a great GFX Card, but a good amount of Ram (4-8gb at 1333mhz min), and a caviar black HDD or an SSD to keep up with it .

I know you may not be from the UK but it gives a good idea of what gaming parts.

DO NOT waste money on a i7 for gaming. A i5 can run everything maxed out for many many years.
The 7850 graphics card can run BF3 on Ultra easily and can be overclocked like a beast (Past 1GHz core clock)
8GB RAM is more than enough for games and they will not eat more than that
PSU is more than enough and is pretty reliable.
The case is more or less a opionon. I personally like the NZXT Phantom 410 and CM Storm Enforcer and the Bitfeenix is a great value case. So just choose anything that takes your fancy (with good reviews of course)

Of course you can customize it a lot, but that is a pretty capable gaming build which will run games on high for a few years.

In my view you should have the good processor which is very important because when you download any games the system will slow down, so inorder to save that you should have to check the processor and all the configurations.
