Looking to upgrade GPU, EVGA 670?

So im looking to upgrade my GPU on my computer. I currently run a XFX 6870, im thinking a EVGA 670 would be good but im not sure how much of an actual performance gain ill see. Anyone know if its worth the upgrade?

Also is a PCIE 3.0 GPU able to run on a mobo with a 2.0 PCIE slot? The 6870 i have now is 2.1 but i just wanna make sure i can use the damn thing if i buy it.

I don't know how it will fit with your board etc., but I recently bought the EVGA GeForce 670 and have been quite satisfied with it so far, haven't had any issues.
