Volund's computer (finished + build pics)

Well, as promised, here are the pictures from my build, which took place over 2 days last week.

Specs-
XFX nVidia 780i 3 way mobo
8gb OCZ SLI ready RAM
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
2x MSI 8800GTS GFX cards
250gb HDD
Creative SZ Sound card
2x optical drives (1x CD/DVD + 1x CD/DVD RW)
Floppy drive
Thermaltake Armor Series Case (Black, with 250mm side fan)
Zalman 9500 CPU cooler
1000W OCZ PRO X STREAM PS

Pics-
Mobo still in packaging

Case opened up with PSU installed

HDD installed, along with assorted parts pulled out of the case

Mobo ready for CPU installation

Mobo w/ CPU and Zalman cooler installed

Different angle-

Mobo installed into case-

HDD cage installed back into case

1st gfx card in

2nd gfx in, ready for wiring

Wiring started

More wiring-

Wiring done-

Initial boot, flash ruins the blue glow

Front HDD cage fan

Well, that is my new computer, I'm thinking right now of doing a few changes to it, such as changing out the side panel fan to a heavier duty one, and switching out the two non LED 80mm's. I will also most likely add a tube or 2 of CCFL lighting and a flash reader.

I have about 516MB of ram, the fact that I'll never even get a semi-decent computer until I'm an adult has deterred me from learning anything about comps. But do you really need ALL of that stuff, some of it seems a little excessive.

Yes, it is slightly excessive, but I set a budget, and ended within it.

I had been planning for over 3 months, and had been setting aside money for about a year.

-ViewSonic- Newegg.com - ViewSonic Optiquest Series Q241wb Black 24" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 800:1 Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors
I'm leaning towards the samsung.

NOTE- Before people bitch at me about having to much money to burn.
1- I spend a good 7-8 hours a day in front of my computer, so the money is well spent.
2- I do extensive research on each component I am considering buying.
3- I will not be buying all of this at once (close to 900$ including tax + shipping), But rather over a ~3-4 month period (birthday money ).
4- just because I work for a living doesn't give you the right to bitch when the fact comes up that I can pay for this out of my own pocket.

The Viewsonic monitor product is deactivated, so definitely go for Samsung

Very nice build, but I recommend upgrading to a larger HD. You wouldn't believe how fast you can use up 250GB when your downloading random junk (if you are planning to that is. If not, 250GB is just fine!)
