    Yes. It does work.

    However, their is a physical problem - 32bit operating systems only work with max 3.2GB ram. Means, there will be no use for your 8 GB. The only way to solve that is to get a 64 bit OS which can theoretically support up to 120 GB of ram. Still, x64 systems are stable, but still contain more bugs than others.

    but there is a workaround (as 32 bit actually recognizes more RAM than 3.2 gigs) built into linux OS'... It is called PAE Physical Address Extension - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
