Review of Super Mario 64

Review Of Super Mario 64

[ Intro ]

This is review of the old Super Mario 64 which will include hints and tips on how to play the game, and also reveal some secrets some of you might not know about

[ How To Play The Game On Your Own Pc ]

I allready wrote a guide on how to play Super Mario 64 using an emulator, you can find it right here:

Nintendo 64 Emulator Guide

This guide also teaches you how to use cheats and hacks which hasn't been a possibility on the normal console!

[ The Story Line ]

The princess is trapped inside the castles walls, and to get her out you have to remain the castles power with the 120 stars which is placed in 15 diffrent courses (15 stars is hided in secrets spots you have to find yourself). To safe her you have to fight versus bowser 3 times.

The letter that shows up once you start the game:

[ The beggining ]

Once you have seen the intro movie, you start your big adventure with 0 stars, your goal is to find and get the 120 stars, and also to defeat bowsers stages, and himself. When you enter the castle there is at first only one door you can enter. The door with the big star on is where it all starts.

Once you have entered the door you'll see a big picture. Jump right into it, and now you're started your big adventure for real.

Get some stars, and you'll be able to enter the other stages. From this point you can pretty much do everything on your own, because it's pretty obivious what to do.

[ Hints & Tips ]

There is some hints and tips which is good to know while you're playing.

High Jumps/falling down from high places.

Right before you hit the ground do a Super Butt Slam just before you hit the ground (or slightly higher), and no damage will be taken.

Free coins from stumps

If you run around a stump 5 times in a row, 5 coins will appear, an easy way to get some extra money.

Butterflies

Butterflies may appear on courses 2, 12, and 13. Punch the butterflies to turn them into round black bombs that will chase Mario. The bombs will explode or turn into extra life mushrooms.

Get your life backup fast

If you're in a water stage, and you have low life, jump into the water, and stay there while your life regains

These is the most important things to know. so keep it in mind while you play.

[ Secrets ]

If you have been playing Super Mario Party 64 yourself you might also know that the game contains a LOT of secrets, which in my own oppinion makes the game a lot more fun to play.

I'll share some secrets, but there are so many that it would fill out 2 hole pages to explain and show all of them, so i'll just take some secrets which i know isn't the easiest ones to find..

Outside the castle there is a tree which reveals a hidden mushroom if you jump into it and out again. Here is a picture of where it is:

This is course 2, at the top of the big tower.

The picture explains it all:

This picture does also explain everything:

[ My Own Review Of The Game ]

This game is clearly the best game i've ever played on the Nintendo 64 gaming console. It has some pretty good graphics for its time, and it's challenging and fun. I played this game for more than a ½ year once i was a kid, i finished the game with 120 stars, i was simply amazed on the secrets of this game, and how it all worked.
I can recommend everyone who hasn't tried the game, to give it a go. Even thought it's old, it's still good, and a good classic game to play while you're bored.

[ Notes: ]

I hope all of you enjoyed this review. I've tried to include as much as possible, and this guide should also teach any new player to get started.

If you have any feedback, questions or requests, please leave a comment

Thanks for reading

Marc
