Our fictional universe history starts in the beginning of the XXI century and spans over a quarter millennium until the second half of the XXIII century. But there is a problem - things have changed. We no longer refer to years as 2225 AD or 2253 AD... Too much has happened since then: Humans have lost Earth, but also conquered the stars; we've surpassed the fear of death and found out that we are not alone in the Milky Way... So it's no wonder that even the calendar has changed. We no longer say 2227 AD, but 155 ER. Year 155 after Earth Restriction.

Earth Restriction - a quite interesting incident, in the Taikodom universe, Earth was covered by a forcefield of unknown origin, spanning across the whole planet, allowing physical matter to exit Earth's atmosphere, but not letting anything in.
Soon, a plague shattered the already weakened economy and politics. 99% of Earth's population was killed during the "Restrictive Plague".
A massive superconglomerate formed by the merge between biggest consortia of the Sun and Alfa Centauri came to lead mankind out to space - the Consortium.
Even though most of the survivors from Earth could be evacuated to the orbitting space stations, there was not enough room for everyone.
The spare survivors were transferred into a state of hibernation where they were to rest until the need for them rose.
That is now, 150 years after ER, the best of the survivors are revived and called in to fight pirates and extraterrestrial life forms. You are one of these best, resurrect, welcome to the future, your future.

Taikodom is a F2P space-action MMO, MMORPG or Massive Social Game. Developed by Hoplon Infotainment the first release was for Brazil only. In 2007 the english/international version was published.


So there you are. You get to choose whether you want to be:

a Hotshot, who focuses in intercepting speed and attack, the fighter class.

a Juggernaut, who focuses on heavy weaponry and defense, the bomber class.

a Merchant, who focuses on Mining and Trading, thus got a huge cargo bay, the freighter class.

or a Scout, who explores the universe, only to discover new things, thus focusing on a good sensors array and decent speed.

Nodes are places in space where humankind established their cities. Human civilization is present in several sites around the Sun and the adjacent systems. As time goes by, new regions can come up and expand its borders. Nine Star Systems, dozens of nodes and stations, more than 50 agents, more than 200 missions and near 40 different ship designs at your disposal.

The universe is expanding with every update to come.

My opinion: It's a fun game, not as complex as EVE and not as simple as other space-MMOs. Definitely worth a try.
