Rep Power: 9 | | | D3scene switched servers Some people might have noticed a short downtime yesterday for around 1 hour. Something happened.... Guess what, we switched servers! We are now on a more powerful, more secure and just better server which is online 24/7 for D3scene. Sounds good eh?
To give you a brief idea of our server:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 - X2 5600+ - Dual Core
RAM: 4 GB DDR2 RAM
HDD: 1 x 400 GB SATA II
Network: 1 GBit OnBoard
OS: Redhat 7.04
Connection: 100mbit upload/download (12.5 Mbyte/second)
Not to forget, our server is run by 100 percent green electricity. D3scene helps to solve the global warming problem!
The datacenter where the server is located has the power to be run via bateries for 15 minutes (imagine, there are currently 15000 servers) and has 2 standbysets which can then be activated in case of an emergency (each has 2150 KW, engines see here)
The temperature is constantly 22 degrees, made possible by powerful cooling systems.
The datacenter is 2500m² in size, offering enough place for 20000 servers in colocation racts.
The whole datacenter is constantly monitored for efficient security. That means nobody can enter the datacenter and steal your secured data on the D3scene servers.
Security:
We are running latest software and security maintained by experts which will result in amazing d3scene loading speed (never seen a vbulletin forum that loaded faster anyways). The new server allows us to handle up to 5000 users at once! (not sure about mysql tough)
Let's see what is going to happen in the next year .

Rep Power: 5 | | | Is the google ads a standard URL, so I can add it to my startpage (So I open it every time I open my browser), or does it vary from each refresh? |

Rep Power: 9 | | Yep. It is exclusively for D3scene. The server reports 1.5% use when 300 members are online . |
