Virus scans please read before posting a download link

Todays announcement is going to be about viruses, and the importance of having a virus scan added to your post.
If you want to post a program here, i would reccomend you to use: Anubis: Analyzing Unknown Binaries this is a more thorough scan than virustotal (wich often hands out fake-positives).
This will help protect our members from nasty viruses.
Some of us will scan the file anyways, so it will just save us some work if you would do it, we will find the virus-spreaders somehow!

I hope some people will learn it now.
I did it myself in the last Threads I started aswell.
But with Virustotal -> Shame on me..

At least virustotal is better than nothing

The point here is that it is hard to tell wether or not it is a false positive...

Anyway.. Thanks for posting I guess..

But I have a better suggestion, why don't you just install a mod on vBulletin, that will scan every attached file. And then you say that files MUST be attached. Then it would save everyone from a lot of work after it is installed

This should be made into a clear stickied announcement.

So it shows at the top of every section.

Or else it'll be overrun with the other announcements.

even if there is a mod to scan files its not garenteed that it will stop viruses but still worth doing because it would block alot of them.

I thought it was like that already? Or do you mean that i should make a sticky in each section?

If you are unsure if its a real trojan, pass the file over to me. Uhm I think i can find 90% of all trojans sent to me or posted on this board. I'll add another announcement whenever I have time including a full guided tutorial how I protect myself without Kaspersky etc and everything for free :>
