Hello D3Scene. This post is directed towards those of you who love this community like I do. There have been a few threads I have seen lately that say things such as:
Or things similar to that. Users have posted on these threads trying to show the person who started the thread that they are wrong. In this situation, you are both right and wrong. When a troll makes a thread like this, they are only wanting attention. By posting on this thread, you are just encouraging them to keep doing what they are doing. When this happens, they are in fact, making D3Scene "suck". Nobody wants to be browsing through hundreds of spam threads like this!
Our job as the users of the D3Scene community is to ignore them. Each and every one of them. If they do not get the attention that they want, they will leave and we will all be happy. This includes users posting on threads that have meaning and are actual threads. Trolls will come into normal threads and try to cause trouble. There is no way to avoid this, but just do what I said before, and ignore them.
I know this may be hard for some people and common sense for others, but this knowledge needed to get out into the open. I have seen so many people doing the wrong thing, that it sickens me. We do not have to let D3Scene "go downhill" if we don't want it to.
Also, the Moderators, Global Moderators, and Administrators ARE doing their job. They are human beings as well, and have lives. They can't sit online all day and keep the boards perfectly clean. The best thing to do if you see a troll/spam thread or post, is to report it by clicking this button on the corresponding themes:
You will then be brought to a text box. Please type in what you feel is wrong with the post you reported, and be brief! Remember to only report a post if you feel it is absolutely necessary! The more useless posts that get reported, the longer it will take the staff to remove the really bad ones!
When it comes down to it, just use common sense. You can use common sense all over the internet. The sad thing is that most people don't, and that's what makes some websites fail. I love D3Scene to a point where they have become my second family, and almost becoming more of a family to me then my parents are. I have a terrible home life that has no chance of revival. I don't want to see the same thing happen to D3Scene.
Thank you all for reading this very important post! Please use common sense, and report trouble-making posts!
I totally agree with Mike.
Other than that, all of us have to be more active or in case you don't want to, atleast give the proper reputation to these, who are active and contributing. If you have a higher rank (starting with elder user) you probably contributed a lot in the past. You know how difficult it was to reach a specific rank but it's your turn to help new users now!
Also, if you have any serious problem, go ahead and PM either a moderator, global moderator or admin about it.
Best regards, Tracky
man d3scene doesn't suck only one gmod does
What account is exactly banned?
I have no problem with the moderators and staff. In fact, I find everyone to be delightful to be around so long as I'm polite and friendly.
Thanks for wording it so clearly. I should have know better than posting in troll threads :/
