[Explanation] Why there aren't hacks in Runescape

This thread was made to prevent threads like: Anyone know a gold hack for Runescape? Anyone got a good hack to raise my stats in Runescape? Threads like that in which they ask for real, direct hacks.

Some of you may say, "We have SCAR...what are you talking about?"...well listen to this, SCAR isn't a hack. SCAR is a program, also called a macro, that allows you to give it orders, scripts, to run on to make it act as if you were playing. Same concept with "bots" and "autos".

Anyways, getting back to the topic, the main reason why there are no hacks for Runescape is because Jagex has a sophisticated database that changes addresses every little amount of time, not enough for hackers, the mediocre, average hacker, to get the addresses to hack. Then some people would think, "Then what about the advanced hackers?". Well, Jagex also has a strong law enforcement. No one really has the guts to hack Jagex, because they actually do arrest you for hacking Runescape. In fact, a person who hacked Jagex once was arrested for ten years in jail.

So let's summarize this thread on why there aren't hacks for Runescape:
-Addresses change fast.
-Most people don't have the wit.
-The rare population that has the wit doesn't have the guts.
-The ones that have the guts get jailed.

Greetz,
E.

Well Runescape is a web-based game instead of like Warcraft, Warcraft is a client game, the client also controls part of the game where as to the rest belongs to the server. This also leads to packet editing, but none of this can happen in Runescape since there is no client-based data.

editee,
Please do get your facts right. No has gone to jail for creating a RuneScape bot/hack. Kaitnieks, the father of all Runescape cheating was not sent to jail. He simply had a kid, and he left for the better cause. Moparisthebest, the current root administrator of Moparisthebest has not been charged for anything. RegeX, the head dev of aryan has not been charged.

Currently, there are 2 bots that I know that are fully functional. They are run by ImpSoft.

- Ares [ByteCode]
- I-Bot

Impsoft has not been attacked by Jagex.

== Past ==

NO-ONE has been charged. As far as I know, Silabsoft one of the female cheaters has had her host contacted for having Jagex owned files on her website. But that is all.

The current Runescape cheating method is Bytecode.

The reason past bots have died because of engine changes. And minor fixes. We don't use deobfuscated clients because deobfuscation sucks and there are too many Jagex dummies to remove.

Notice how you, yourself, said "2 bots"? That was exactly what I said, bots are not hacks. They do not memory edit in any way, they simply perform tasks for you. Plus, there are no repercussions for hacking until you are caught. Botting not included.

Bots are partly hacks. Bytecode, we inject out own methods and fields into the client. You can edit memory with that.

lord-zach,
Ares and I-Bot are not macros. They are edited clients. Macro's in Runescape's way of cheating are programs that just one simple task.

AutoRune,
It injected its own packets and flushed out all unnecessary packets. If you ever read Black Book of Cheating, AutoRune edited memory.

EvilCowGod, he made a maphack aggggesssss ago. With memory editing.
