What is Runescape?

Several people have asked what Runescape is, and if it is any good. Here is some information on the game. Runescape is a massive multiplayer online game, with many quests, and skills. You can play in high detail, or low detail. You also have an option to play in fullscreen if you are in high detail mode. Currently their are english servers in: U.S., U.K., Canada, Finland, Australia, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, and Denmark. There is also a German version of the game thats seperate from the other servers. In Runescape, you have a wide variety of skills to work on including; Attack, Defence, Strength, Hitpoints, Ranged, Prayer, Magic, Cooking, Woodcutting, Fishing, Firemaking, Crafting, Smithing, Mining, and Runecrafting. Agility, Thieving, Herblore, Slayer, Construction, Farming, Summoning and Hunting are Members only skills. For the free version of the game, their are 19 different quests to play, and over 100 in the members version of the game. When you create your account, you choose what your character looks like. (e.g. Gender, Skincolor, Clothes Type) Once in game you will go through a tutorial teaching you the basics of the game. Once your done with the tutorial, you will be in the city of Lumbridge, nearby you will find several beginner guides to help you get started.

I would play the free version for a while before you consider buying the members version. The members version is $5.00 a month, seems cheap compared to WoW.

You honestly want to play RuneScape? I know you and I are entitled to an opinion so i'll just say it. RuneScape is byfar the most retarded game ever released. If you want a good RPG that is free.. go with Silk Road Online, and for Shooters GunZ is always great. RuneScape is mostly played by 10 year olds as what it seems from the stupid videos I watched about it. The graphics suck, and so does the game. I really would rather play Pacman.

I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I don't see why you dislike it so much. I have never seen less than 100,000 people logged on at the same time. Personally I like it more than Warcraft III, but maybe thats just me.

I don't exactly know why.. I haven't really had the time to get past "Tutorial Island" soo I haven't really explored much of land. The Tutorial island just is a big turn off for the game. Who wants to learn about the game like that? Geesh..

In my opinion Runescape is the most biggest pile of crap ive ever played i tried playing it for a while but find it so boring and its evan more geeky than wc3 i just dont find any enjoyment in killing cow's and chickens and weird green things people say they find it adictive its just so slow game play can someone please tell me what is so adictive about this game please.

I guess you guys find runescape fun like i find wc3 fun

eh no offence to the game but yeah i hate it i tried it just on the tutorial part and it was boring as hell

I have to agree that the tutorial is exteremly boring, but once your past that, and have been playing for a while its actually pretty fun. The tutorial only takes about half hour, so I don't see how you can't finish it.

yeah dont base the game off the tutorial cause how many games suck as bad as their tutorials? i can think of a ton of games that all would suck if they where as bad as their tutorials

I was level ~50 when i stopped to play and sold my account to a nerdy "friend". This game sucks in my opinion. (I didn't level up to 50 myself, I got the accoun at level 48 for free by another friend. )


And, 5$ cheap compared to WoW? :S No way! WoW is about 13$ if im correct, and you get alot better graphics and alot more quests, and alot more people to play with and all that, so if I had to choose between WoW and Runescape, then I would have played WoW even though it costs 8$ more in the month.

ie been playin rs for like 3 years and being a member is wayyy better than free free you only get 3 small cities 2 illages 1 port 1 island and a small section of PP land but members get the entire world

ive got like a 35 or something whitch i did while i was supposed to be writing my thesis while my WoW was down... here are the problems i see w/ the game- is its mostly grinding.... graphics suck... emotes are dumb.... its monotonus.... and its populated by small retarded children.... (kinda reminds me of some alliance+ BE...) and in big, big caps.......WHO WOULD PAY FOR THIS
