SilkRoad Online small guide..
Big Alchemy Guide
First off, alchemy is a very complex process it takes a lot of time and effort to
even get a decent understanding let alone rite a guide on it. Hopefully this guide will
make your alchemy experience more enjoyable.
Elixirs
Elixirs are the original alchemy before all of the tablets came into existence and all
the elements, their were elixirs. Now what an elixir is, is an item that can be used
to make another item better. Ever see items with +1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 on them? Most of
the time those come from Elixirs. Elixirs come in several different varieties, Shield,
protector, accessory, and the most coveted of them all the Weapon elixir. Depending on
the type of elixir you get will let you enhance a item of that type. To do this the
you must first acquire the elixir then acquire the item you wish to enhance. after
gathering these materials you open up the alchemy window and click on the att.Enhance
tab. Then put the corresponding items into the slot and click combine. To increase
your chances of success use a lucky powder witch can be acquired from the grocery trader.
NOTE: The elixir may fail and you will end up with nothing or if the item is all ready +'d
you can lower its +.
Breaking down items
You can break down virtually any item you find in the game. certain items that when dropped
look like Large bags have but one purpose and that is to be broken down into smaller
elements. Breaking down items requires a destroyer rondo witch can be bought at the grocery
vendor for 500g. To break down items that came from the Large bags, use Void rondos witch
can be purchased for 20G at the grocery vendor.
NOTE: Breaking down a normal item for example a sword will not necessarily yield high end or
vast amounts of elements.
NOTE: Breaking down a SOS or SOM item does not yield more elements than a normal element
Elements
Elements come in four different flavors water, earth, fire, and wind. Their are also different
levels of elements ranging from 1 to 4 from what i have discovered. Elements main uses are to
combine with tablets witch will be explained later to create stones witch can add attributes or
change them on items. Also it is very profitable to sell elements i have made over 40 million
gold doing this. To make money just sell every element at 1000g each set up a stall in Donwang
and go to sleep. If you plan to use the elements to make stones from tablets it is best to
stockpile them and have about 400 of each type and degree.
Tablets
Tablets combine with elements to create stones. You will find tablets while adventuring they
will look like odd shaped round things. Their are different types of tablets ruby, emerald, and
sapphire. Ruby tablets effect the stats already on the item and will reset the stat and re roll
a new one. Emerald tablets will add new attributes to your items. sapphire tablets create
items i have little experience with them since they are very rare. Tablet come in degrees
you can tell their degree by the little roman numeral in the corner of their picture. You
can only use the same degree of tablet on the same degree of weapon. Here is a list of all
the tablets i have acquired and found so far.
Warrior= physical reinforce
dodging= protectors parry ratio
training= accessory physical absorb
ming= shields and protector magic defense
life= shields and protectors physical enforce
flesh= shields and protectors physical defense power
focus= weapons attack rating
fire= accessories fiery damage resist
stamina= head chest leg protector add HP
fogs=accessories ice resistance
immunity= accessories poison resistance
magic= head, chest, leg increase MP
penetration= Shield critical parry ration
master= increase durability on all
steady= adds steady attribute
strikes= increases weapon accuracy
discipline= weapons increase block parry ratio
air= accessories increase electrical shock resistance
revival= accessories increase zombie resistance
STR= increase Strength
prayer= accessories magical absorption
meditation= weapon magical reinforcement.
Courage= raises physical attack power
more to come......
Stones
Stones are created by combining tablets and the elements they require. They can add
attributes or reset and re roll attributes depending on the tablet that was use to create the
stone. To create a stone open up you alchemy window and insert the tablet then all the elements
required "these can be determined by placing you cursor over the tablet". You can not fail to
make a stone. After the stone is created to apply it to an item once again open up your alchemy
window and go to att.enchance tab. Once their you put the item you want en chanced and the stone in
and fuse them.
NOTE: while making the stone can not fail applying the stone to a item can fail.
SOS Items
SOS items come in three different style's, Seal of Sun, Seal of Star, and Seal of Moon.Seal of moon has the statistics of a weapon that is aproximetly ten levels above the items level requirement, Seal of sun has a fifteen level difference, and seal of star has a five level difference. So those are the category's of "Seal" items, and by now after just
reading that your thinking now where can I get my hands on one of those items or a full set? Well this may be bad news or awesome news, Silk road is not like other MMO's, where the awesome gear only comes from named mobs or super tough creature's. In Silk Road a"Seal" item can drop from ANY monster. It goes without saying that they are extremely rare,so are that in 60 levels I have never had a single one drop for me, where as I have friends that seem to get one every level. So now your probably wondering well I know how to get them and why their so special but what types of things are they? "Seal" items come in all forms
wether it be armor accessory or a weapon. By far the easiest way to get a "seal" itemis to purchase it from other players, a tip though is shop around get a feel for the prices on your server and don't buy the first thing you see. Make sure when shopping you look at allof the items other statistics, just because its a "seal" weapon doesn't mean its going to have
a large number for critical. Well by now you should all have a great understanding of the "Seal" items.
Skill Point Farming
This is a small skill point farming guide. I will explain the basics and how to do it but i wont have the exact numbers. The point of skill point farming is to save up enough skill points so that you can max all of your masteries and let you level faster. The way the EXP system works is you have two types of exp, normal exp and skill exp. Your skill masteries relate directly to your characters actual level. If your highest mastery is equivalent to actual level you will gain no skill point experience and all you exp will go to leveling exp. So to get the best of both worlds you have to SP farm, witch in essence means that your mastery level is 7-9 levels below your actual level. The best place to do Skill point farming is the bandit stronghold, it is best to start this at level 16 when you can kill the bandits and archers. Ok so here is the tedious part killing these bandits with your mastery levels this low. Do this till your level 20 then go to downwang and bind yourself their, walk outside the city and die till you get back to level 16 and start all over again. Yeah it is boring and takes forever but when you get about 20k Skill points you can stop and max your masteries and level extremely fast because all of your exp will be going towards leveling. I know its kind of hard to understand but skill point farming in general is complicated, send me PM if you need more help of have questions.

Now its a huge guide xD
Stats
Strength(Str): increases hp, the physical attack/defence and the physical balance
Intelligence(Int): increase mp, the mental attack/defence and the mental balance
They do not affect hit/parry rate. Hit/parry rate increases by one on every level up. Each level you get you gain 5 stats. 2 are distributed automatically, 1 into str and 1 into int. The other 3 stats can be distributed manually.
Physical/mental balance
They factored into the damage you done so the higher it is the more damage you'll do. For example, a physical attack of 100-140 and a physical balance of 80% will give you a damage range from 80-112. It's more complicated than this but this is the general idea.
Hit/Parry rate
Block sometimes I see a red "block" pops up and I receive no damage!
That's because you're holding a shield. A shield have a blocking rate, will equals to the parcentage you'll block an attack. So for a blocking rate of 10, you'll have 10% blocking the attack and rececive no damage. I currently don't know if it'll block skills also.
Equipments
There're five classes of weapons
* Swords: can equip shields, mental based, double attack
* Blades: can equip shields, physical based, double attack, lower critical
* Spears: two-handed, highest mental power, higher critical
* Glavies: two-handed, highest physical power, Slow weapon
* Bows: two-handed, long range, fast attack, relative low physical/mental power
There're three classes of body equips:
* Armor: high physical defence, low mental defence
* Garment: high mental defence, low physical defence
* protector: balance in physical and mental defence
Armor and protector equipments can be mixed but garment cannot mix with either of them. In addition, wearing full protector/garment sets will give you bonus:
* full protector set: -10% mp usage, +10% moving speed
* full garment set: -20% mp usage, +20% moving speed
Armor sets does not gives any bonus.
Blue equipments are equips with extra stats. There can be one to several stats on the blue equips.
* Power and Mental: simply adds the number of power/mental points
* Reduce status: reduce the duration of a status by a percentage, there're five types: freezing/frostbite, burn, shocked, poison, zombie
* Immortal: When upgrade fails prevents equipments from breaking(losing the item)
* Steady: When upgrade fails prevents equipemtns from losing durablity
* Lucky: Increase chance of sucessful upgrade
Immortal, steady and lucky has a number of times use, and when the number reach zero the stat is gone.
* Unrepairable: Cannot be repaired, durabily is 4 times larger than normal. (never seen any number other then 4 times)
Special shoes (I believe that's a bad translation)
There's a phyical and mental special shoes with every equips. This number determines the power/defence increased in an upgrade. It is said that 10% special shoe equals to 1 power/defence increase but this is not tested in the english SRO.
Degrees
Equipments comes in sets. Within a set there's 3 different leveled equips for each body part. A set is then given a degree based on the level of the equipments. So the first set (lvl 1-8) is degree 1, second set (lvl 9 -16) is degree 2, etc. This is only use in upgrading where you need to have the same degree lucky powder to boost in chance of sucess.
Status effects
Status effects are given an effect number, and there's an effect number with every status effect skills. Using pills or healing qi simply reduce the amount of effect number, and then the effect number is equal to zero the effect is cured For example, if you're burned for effect 60, and you take a piil which heals status of effect 36, you'll still have the status for effect 24. It looks like effect points affect the status duration, but i'm not sure.
Now the status effects
* Burn: you lose some hp every few seconds. hp loses are random but higher level burn does more damage. The random burn sometimes will do as much as 10x damage.
* Electric shock: Lowers parry rate, thus increasing the chance of doing higher damage. This does NOT stun or slows you in anyway.
* Freezing: Ah, the pvp status effect king. It renders you immobile, so your opponent can hit you without fear of retaliation.
* Frostbite: Slows you down and decreses your attack speed.
* poision: same as burn but damage taken is constant.
* zombie: when any hp skills or potion is used, hp is decreased instead of healing you.
Damage:
White Numbers: This is showing the amount of damage you are giving to the enemy.
Red Numbers: This is showing the amount of damage you are taking.
Orange Number: this is showing damage being taken by fire status.
Greenish Yellow Numbers: This is showing the damage being taken by poison status.
Block: This shows that the damage was totally negated. Only characters with shields can block.
Is there a stun effect?
Yes in the spear skill tree the fourth skill (lvl 14) has a chance to stun. When stunned you'll glow yellow and a yellow tornado-like spiral will appear on your head. Unlike other effects stun does NOT allow item usage so unless you got a healer behind you you're stunned for the whole time.
Tips and tricks
Buy things in a batch
Tired of dragging the potions to your inventory then type the amount in? just hold ctrl and left click on the potion and you'll buy a batch of 50.
Manually turn off stat-raising effect
Right click on the little effect icon to discard the effect (e.g. attack up, defence up, etc.)
Extra experience points
When set to respective acquire experience, for every extra member in the party there's a 2.5% exp bonus. So a full 4 persons respective party will have an extra 10% exp bonus.
Sohonseok
This item can be bought in the general store, and when used summon a red lantern-like thing in the field. Upon killing the "lantern" it'll explode and kill the attacker. This "lantern" use actually used for killing botters but I think the botters in Chinese SRO already found a way to avoid them >_> They can only be used once per hour.
Stat-up skill with a different weapon
some stat-up skills requires a weapon or a shield(example bow attack-rating increase). The effect actually does not disappear when you take off the requiring equipment. So you can equip the require tools, cast the skills, then re-equip your major weapon, and you'll still have the buff.
Does imbues skills stack?
No they don't. You can only activate one imbue skill at anytime. However, different stat-up/down skill can be used together, for example you can have physical and mental defence up, burn, and electric shock together.
Glowing equipments
Equipments glows when it's upgraded. There're still effects:
+3 +4 silvery white glow
+5 +6 purple red-ish glow
+7 +8 Golden glow
+9 blue-green-ish glow

At the chineese side its not the mastery level that counts, its just the skill points
You can lvl as high as you can if you have skill points^^ (and the lvl ofc)
Not so used to that side^^
