UCOE (Unperiodic Console Of the Elements)

This was my first program ever and it is not very useful unless you attend college and study in sciences and even there, you might find some things are faster. I made this to learn C++ and believe me I know the basics after 3800 lines of repetitive code.

This is a periodic table of the elements in a console program with cute little colors. I can post the source if you want it.

You can type commands such as:

H
Hyrdogen
1

table (cute ASCII periodic table)
tendency
info
constants
alka (alkalines)
all

etc.

EDIT: Oh yeah and I never finished it. Elements from carbon and plus have less info.

Here is the source for my console colors (Found it somewhere online a while ago, can't remember where) (probably the only useful thing you can get from this) :

Quote:
void SetColor(int ForgC)
{
WORD wColor;
HANDLE hStdOut = GetStdHandle(STD_OUTPUT_HANDLE);
CONSOLE_SCREEN_BUFFER_INFO csbi;

if(GetConsoleScreenBufferInfo(hStdOut, &csbi))
{
wColor = (csbi.wAttributes & 0xF0) + (ForgC & 0x0F);
SetConsoleTextAttribute(hStdOut, wColor);
}
return;
}

//This will set the forground and background color for printing in a console window.
void SetColor(int ForgC, int BackC)
{
WORD wColor = ((BackC & 0x0F) << 4) + (ForgC & 0x0F);;
SetConsoleTextAttribute(GetStdHandle(STD_OUTPUT_HA NDLE), wColor);
return;
}

Didn't see this before.

Thanks for sharing - would have been more helpful if I found it last week or so that I didn't have to google images everything, but apparantly I didn't .
