Keep a command prompt open and when you notice things start shutting down type shutdown -a and press enter
then you should have a look to see whats causing it

Ain't it that so famous "sasser" virus? But if you wrote it in your own PC so it's not.

try writing in notepad the shutdown -a command and saving it as all files and abort.bat. Then start backing up your files somewhere and run the batch whenever you see your pc suspicious of shutting down. After you backed up then format hard drive. and reinstall windows. That is a method. OR try going to warez-bb.org and downloading an antivirus then run a scan with it and should be fixed. Nod 32 is good actually. I would also suggest start/run/ msconfig then go to system restore and restore it as back as you can.

The same thing happened to me on my old computer when the graphics card was overheating, try dusting out your tower. If thats not the problem, then I am sure it could use it ^^

Make sure you have the auto shutdown function in system properties disabled in case you're getting BSOD errors.

In case it turns out it's a BSOD error, post the information here I'll try help you out.
