    Govt Shutdown

Well the US government is now shut down. I wish i could say im surprised buuuuuut...

I personally think everyone in our Govt needs to promptly receive a foot up their ass and be fired.

Whats everyone else think about this current situation? (Lets try to not turn this into a flame thread and have Jolinar's ban sense tingle).

Well Congress failed to come up with a budget plan that both sides could agree on. I think Obamacare was a big issue with it but from what i hear the Republicans are saying "nope" to like every proposal presented.

From that explaination... Seems to me like they need to take the stick out of their ass and come to a fucking compromise before they ruin the lives of millions just to make themselves feel happy.

Compromise is essential! especially in a government like ours... and if these politicians dont understand that then "they need to promptly receive a foot up their ass and be fired."

    Ridiculous.
They're even gonna raise the credit line because they've reached their limit of 16.7 trillion USD. So they're just gonna print more bills.

In a German newspaper article they say "Die USA bildeten die Grundlage der Weltwirtschaft und des globalen Finanzsystems, sagte er. Damit dürfe man nicht „herumspielen“."

Meaning as much as "The USA represent the groundwork of world economy and the global financial system, we shouldn't fiddle with it."
... isn't that what they are gonna do just now? I mean, your financial system is gonna collapse sometime soon anyways, but wtf?

Here's some main keypoints for those who don't understand how it will effect you. It might effect you some, or not at all.

"If you are relying on a non-essential government service, such as professional license renewals, applying for a marriage license, mortgage loan, or a passport, you will have to wait days, maybe weeks.
"The government won’t issue as many documents that allow foreign people to visit our country, poor people might not get food stamps to buy groceries, and governments scientists won’t be monitoring the spread of disease. Places that belong to the federal government, like national parks, will have to close during the shutdown. "

"The National Institutes of Health will stop accepting new patients for clinical research and stop answering hotline calls about medical questions. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will stop its seasonal flu program and have a "significantly reduced capacity to respond to outbreak investigations.""

"The Department of Housing and Urban Development will not be able to provide local housing authorities with additional money for housing vouchers. The nation's 3,300 public housing authorities will also stop receiving payments, although most of these agencies have enough cash on hand to provide rental assistance through the end of October."

"The Department of Homeland Security will no longer operate its E-Verify program, which means that businesses will not be able to check on the legal immigration status of prospective employees during the shutdown."

"Although agencies like the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Agency will continue their operations, the Justice Department will suspend many civil cases for as long as the government is shut down."

How is the shutdown any different from what usually goes on with the government?

It's really pathetic that the government system here has boiled down to who has the bigger stick. Personally, I'm more conservative at heart, and it pisses me off when the "Republicans" can't make a decision. The current Republicans are way too strict with their platform and haven't realized that people and times change. The Liberals want to change everything that makes our country stable, essentially rebuilding the foundation while the walls are still up, which as we can see now, causes everything to collapse.

Both sides are at fault, and it's times like now where government shut downs have more purpose than the media reports (rule #1 to following politics is never believe the media). It's pretty obvious that the agenda for the current cabinet has been to make the USA more of a socialist state, and it is also pretty obvious that people are blind and listen to the media (the sheeple of the USA).

Things are out of control with the way the government works here, and although I may not be affected by everything just yet (even though I'm 18), it honestly scares me to think about where things might be heading. Both parties need to compromise and keep the system intact or else we'll have another civil war (or similar conflict) on our hands.
