Random guy registered a domain under my personal company name?

    Hello d3scene,

Just wanted to pursue your advice. I've been doing some digging, as I like to know what people are saying about my personal business. We have our own domain and such, but I found another variation of our domain with a template and all (including pictures of our trucks with name clearly showing).

What I found (and I am based out of Connecticut) through whois database, is a random guy from Las Vegas, NV has registered a domain, and a full blown website (with all of our information, ie. address, services, etc) however used a fake phone number.

Is this something I can take legal action to? I doubt it gets any visitors as I found it on the 3rd page of google, but still the man has a 'copyright' next to MY company name and has no right to be doing what he has done.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    defaltx0

See a lawyer. This is not allowed. He is not allowed to use your companies name (if you are the original owner and own all rights).
Yes, things can be done. Again, go and see a lawyer.

Agreed. Also do you have any of it copyrighted?

Thank you both for the input. I will be getting in contact with my lawyer tomorrow.

I'd call that guy (from a payphone) and ask him what the fuck, but that's just me ...
I'd also contact my lawyer and ask for any legal advice, but you can get him done for plagiarism.

(Friends primal task is to keep other people outa the fight.)

(Optional) Introduce his kneecaps to my hammer.

Step one: I'd who is his domain as that can get you his contact info unless he has whoisguard

Step two: IP trace his host (not hard to do) and find out what company or service is hosting his site. Once you have that visit the service's website usually on there they have a article of how to submit a complaint if you cant find them don't be afraid to call them (usually by skype) and inform them of the IP of the host that is committing the action. These companies usually take it very seriously in my experience as I've had to do it several times.

Step three: Should the above not work its time to contact a lawyer and consult them how to continue.
