Well... NASCAR does not seem like a sport... Only people 18+ can drive, It requires a lot of history, and young ppl cant play NASCAR!

Rep Power: 3 | | | street racing is a sport, stock car racing (nascar) isnt, street racing you have ot dodge other non racers, and take turns that arent made to be taken at high speeds, stock car racing is just driving around a circle taking slight turns. |

Rep Power: 2 | | -.- sport is sport! why do you think you see on the sports channels on tv that theres all kinds of racing like nascar formula 1 etc. Of coarse its a sport! Heres a definition of sport from wikipedia " Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively" Now nascar is definitely a sport according to that definition
"In modern sport motorisation has appeared."
What you guys have to remember is nascar isnt just about them driving in a circle its about all the work that goes on before the race. Who can tune their cars engine to give the best performance. Also if you think about it, when driving round a circle all behind each other, the chances for an easy overtaking opportunity are quite slim. Whereas in other motorsports you have lots of opportuinites (ie if you brake later into a corner or get the best line on a harpin)

Can't we just settle that it is a sport?! xD If you actually look at the definition of a sport it has nothing to do with its availability to anyone or if it can only be played in a certain country. Thats how sports orginated! American football to start was only played in America then it spreaded! So just because NASCAR is only in America doesn't mean that it isn't a sport.
