does it shift relative to each match or each exec launch?

for example: could you find it once a day if you leave your game client open?

a older trick was to hide the buffer with players into a pointer
so that pointer changed every game

the counter to this was that the game still has to know how to handle these values it need this information to function or the game would not work

there is certainly a static storage somewhere if there is 1 of blizzard´s algos there you just have to read them out with a disassembler

your hack then always find the right offset

if some1 knows the galaxy functions those certainly give a way for this

Or is it possible to make a custom map that can inherit HanShotFirst or something along the lines in order to find the address in question...then the offsets from there?

a certain way to find this is to search for the command line
the keystroke are send over wm_keydown/wm_command
this is always processed over the windowproc function then ends in the application
either it is moved to a different buffer or the command line is still holding the keystrokes and read them out when you press enter

after that the input is being processed at some point you can see the compares

a other way would be to to serach for the timer there is either a timer or its made of ketickcount (gettickcount, timegettime)

more to think of is to search for the flag or the animation

about the editor i know nothing sorry
but do it even offer a debugger ? a assembler line ? so you can find the offset of the function you are searching for ?

I appreciate all the information; it all makes sense, I only wish I were better equipped to use the information practically.
With the custom map, I was thinking along the lines of this:
Putting in a trigger or function that initiates some kind of address that a pointer could be drawn up from? or is the galaxy script somehow separate from the addresses that offsets can be pulled? By using crysearch's debugger/disassembler.
    All this is interesting. lol
