SC Beta Pics

I found this gallery of screenshots from the Starcraft beta. It's absolutely AMAZING how far Starcraft has come since then graphics-wise, especially the "command console" at the bottom of the screen (look at the command icons!).

For those who are interested, I also found a playable Starcraft Beta!

There's a guide at http://avantageous.com/SCBeta.htm on how to get it to work, but I haven't tried it so I'm not sure if it works.

You'll need to use a PvPGN server (either download and install it on your computer or you can probably use an existing one, depending on how it is configured). If you want to do it on your computer, you will need two computers to do it (one for the server and one for the beta game - anything that's a Pentium 2 or newer will work for the server), though, due to the way the Starcraft Beta was designed.

That came out in 2006? (The Beta)

SC2 was announced in 07.
