    Trojan Virus upon installation

    Heyas,

I just started up WC3 frozen throne and avg popped up saying the warcraft3.exe file is corrupted. I had it removed and did a virus scan immediately after. AVG found a trojan in a temp file so I got rid of it. I also did a scan with Malwarebytes and nothing came up.

I did a full uninstall of wc3 and began to reinstall it. At the very end when I'm prompted to choose a desktop icon, AVG pops up with the same infected message and removes the exe file. If I choose to ignore the warning, another copy pops up on AVG and I have to remove it.

Any ideas what I have and how to remove it? I've searched everywhere for this problem description and no luck.

    Cheers,

    Stompeed

If you have bought Wc3 in a store (or downloaded it from Blizzards site) it is your Anti Virus who is fucking up. There is no virus in Wc3 when as you bought it / downloaded from Blizzard. I think you should delete AVG (I've had it earlier, it's crap imo) and install another Anti Virus.

Amazing that I've been using wc3 and avg combo for years and no problem. But uninstalling it and succumbing to Norton 30 day trial worked.

LoveYou thx for the post I just saw it after i installed norton lol. Should I reinstall avg and add it to exceptions? Is there any other more gamer-friendly antivirus than norton free or otherwise?

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

    Happy New Year!!!

Well...theres a good one. Try to surf secure and know what you are downloading . Scan files online at virustotal.com or Anubis. If you are to lazy for that, I heard kaspersky is pretty nice.
