[Guide] How to host for warcraft. This guide is for people who want to host for Warcraft 3.
Step #1: Creating a static IP address.
Press the start button at the bottom left corner, click Control Panel, and make sure it is in classic view, click network connections, and right click the internet you use and press properties. Scroll down all the way to the bottom and you should see a thing called "Internet Protocool (TCP/IP). Double-click it, and click the circle that says "Use the following address:" Then fill in the following, NOTE: Do them in the following order:
1.) IP Address: <Your IP address>
2.) Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
3.) Subnet Mask: (255.255.255.0)
Click the circle that says "Use the following DNS server address:" Then fill in the following again. (Doesn't matter if its in order or not.)
1.) Preferred DNS server: (Put in the same thing as you did for Default Gateway.)
2.) Alternate DNS server: 4.2.2.2
Click Ok, press ok again, and X out of your network connections. (We are halfway done.)
Step #2: Forwarding your ports 6112~6119.
Open a web browser, type in your default gateway, usually 192.168.1.1, type in admin on both top and bottom if it shows. Go to virtual servers or the place where you forward ports for gaming. Keep on creating making ports, starting from 6112 to 6119, name it whatever you wish, BUT make sure the ports are TCP & UDP.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion: You should be able to host now, IF not then I don't know, this worked for me so it should work for all of you. ~-MageULook @ UsWest-~ |
