Delay on wc3

i recently purchased a new hp computer, and I'm having a weird problem, my new computer has 8gb ram and a tb of hard drive, along with a better graphics card then the old one, but im using vista instead of xp, my problem is wc3 has a delay of about 1 second on new computer, i can't figure out how to get rid of this, on the old computer i didn't have this and the computer is worse, hon runs super fast at garena like speed, but wc3 doesn't seem to work as well any suggestions for how to reduce delay?, i never seem to spike and the game runs smooth but the delay is annoying cause im a micro machine with a mh

Turn off all the programs running in the background
Tell us your exact hardware and manufacturer
Is it you lagging to BNet or is it your keyboard and your game communicating that's lagging?
Just for clarification though, you should get Win 7 or XP, preferably though Mac or Linux. Vista is the worst OS you can have. Worse than 3.1.

what i meant by smooth was it doesn't spike the graphics look good the game looks like it doesn't lagg but there is a delay from when i click or use a spell to when it is enacted, and i used hon as an example of another game i play that runs perfect more or less with the speed of garena, thank you for your help and your speedy reply, also i have a 100mbs connection to internet and usually download files at 1mb/s+

well if you arnt the host. maybe the host just needs a delay reduce tool.
I think there are still very small differences if you host with a delay reduce tool or without. Well im talkling about tools like dr because lc would still be 100ms.
MAybe you can use W3DR..

If the delay reducer doesn't work, it's very much likely that it's a cause of Vista. My friend had vista once, a couple games had the exact delay you described (not necessarily online games, so it's not connection interference based lag). I don't know if installing SPs works as I neither work with nor like Vista too much (;D), so either that or you just (*cough*) get a XP or Win7 (internet ftw ).

I cant play games on bnet which are hosted by hosts who are not using delay reducing tools.
if you are used to host yourself (with lc/ dotazilla ofc) / good hosts with delay reducer you will consider the difference as
VERY BIG
and btw, hosting a dota game yourself is still worse than playing a 40ms game on hon. (apart from fps drops LOL)

try singleplayer and look if there is still such a big delay for you

Oh and by the way, since Warcraft 3 is an older game you need to run it in compatibility mode on Vista
