0. What is Wc3Banlist?

Wc3 Banlist is a program, which allowes you to keep track of players you dont want in your game, or if you want
to remember something about someone you can do that aswell. An example could be "Zo8 Leaver/Noob".
When ever Zo8 joins your game (as host or client) a sound will be played, which tells you that Zo8 is banned.
The name and the comment you wrote, will be copied to clipboard, and can be viewed by hitting ctrl+v in the lobby.

1. Downloading the setup

If you want to use Banlist, to must first download, and run the installer.
You can download it here:

When you finished downloading, you have a new icon on your desktop.
Run it, and follow the next part of my guide.

2. Running the setup

OK, so you ran the setup.
To the first one, just hit next.
At the second one, select where you want the program to be installed. (Default is C:\Program Files\WC3Banlist)
At the third one, select a name which will be the name of the program in your start menu. (Default is Wc3Banlist)
Now, the fourth one is really important. In order to make Wc3Banlist work, you need WinPcap 3.1 (or later)
Dot the box where it says "Install WinPcap 3.1 (required)"



At the fifth one, just hit install.
At the sixth one, hit finish, and the setup will exit

3. An overwiew of features

-Snooping
Ok, you got the program succesfully installed, and you run it.
If you haven't joined a game yet, the snooping tab will be empty.
If you have joined a game the Snooping tab will look like this:



You can see the map name, the game title, the realm, who is in which slot, etc etc.
That is pretty much the function of the Snooping tab in Wc3Banlist.

-Local Database
This is the tab where you view all your bans/infos/scores/games and tools.
Whenever you ban someone during a game, or in a channel, it will be here. Together with the reason.



This is how my Local Database looks.
If you want to ban a person manually, just click the "Create new ban" and type his name, and your comment.
You can also delete bans here.

-Online banlists/safelists
Either, it does nothing, or im a complete idiot, and cant figure it out.. Sorry about that, but I cant help
you on this one :/

-In-game commands
FINALLY! The tab we've all been waiting for!
I suggest that you just go read the commands in the tab, because I see no point in copy pasting it.
Ill just show you the most used in MY case.

/ban TheFuckerYouWantToBan NOOOOOB (aka, the nickname of the guy you want to ban, and the reason)
/banlast [comment] Bans the last leaver, with the comment you decide.
/check [nickname] check if the guy is on your local banlist
/nodl [on/off] Switches Anti Download function on or off. When its on, it automaticly kicks downloaders
from your game.
Allright, as I said before, read the tab for a complete list of in-game commands.

-Preferences
This tab, is where all your options is made. This is where you choose sounds for commands, use phrases, etc.
Quick rundown through the features.

Online Lists. I dont know what this is, and I never used it, lol.

Databases. A picture says more than a thousand words, right?



In here, you can select where you want to save replays, screenshots etc etc.
In Banlist, theres a function to connect to your buddies' banlist. This means, that when someone joins your game,
they get scanned on your banlist ofc, but with this fucntion, on your buddies banlist aswell!

Phrases. Shall not talk much about it, press new phrase, select the text you want to be written and set the name of the phrase.
When you, in-game, type /phrase (or /p) and the name of your phrase, it will be written in the game.

Anti Download. It autokicks downloaders, with a whisper message. (if you choose it)

Auto Kick. Auto kicks if a player is banned with the keyword you decide should be auto kicked.

Network. I suggest you dont touch this, it is made like this for a reason =D. If you fuck something up, you might not
be able to use ur banlist.

Messaging. Here you can chance stuff, about the Messages tab and about Wc3 Banlist Messages.

Sounds. In here, you can select the sounds you want to be played when banned player joines, player banned, etc etc.

Custom Comments. Explore it yourself, that's funnyer than, if u just sit here and watch me type =D

Friends List. Makes you able to add buddies to a friend list. All players on the friend list will be autoholded.
(if you are the host ofc) You can also choose to your normal friendlist from wc3.

Miscellaneous. Miscellaneous settings, change them to your likes.

-Messages
In here you can view all messages that people have either typed or whispered.
You can chance how it looks, in the messaging tab in preferences.

-Help
Read it xD

4. An ending note

Ok, so hopefully you got you Wc3Banlist working properly, and changed the settings to your likes. Now, go ban someone ;D

actually i do have a quick question...

I use LC (listchecker) for hosting dota games and I like to run my banlist while i do that but i notice that it doesnt let me do a /checkall or anything to check if all the players present have been banned or w/e

i was wondering is there something i have to do like do a double slash // or something for it to work (im talking about in the LC waiting room)

You simply can't use Wc3Banlist when playing LAN.
The commands you use, wont have any effect.
And when you host via LC, you host on LAN to get less lags.
You can't do anything to fix that.

ok thanx for clearing that up, my banlist does pick up banned players but if it copies something else to clipboard i cant paste the banned comment again
