Accidental Money

This is a discussion on Accidental Money within the WoW Exploits forum part of the WoW forum category; No real scam, but it sure made me laugh - i got 11 stacks of linen cloth and im grinding ...

Accidental Money
No real scam, but it sure made me laugh -

i got 11 stacks of linen cloth and im grinding away the numbers and clicking sell, i enter 54s for each

now comes the part that made me rich -

by accident for 3 stacks i entered 54g not 54s and made 162g woot

maybe ill try it on purpose some time lol!

i think they bought it an accedent...thinking linen is cheap and then just clicked buy...and then figured out they were 54 g

Lol that's really funny! Whenever you buyout or bid AH confirms how much money you are spending. Who would be stupid enough to buy 54g for a stack of silk?

Done that to, but wasnt an accident. sold stacks of nethercloth or whatevah its called 3.90g a stack, and poof! had 390g there in my bank cuz some silly fool didnt see it.

this does work, especially w/ low lev crafting mats... ie. linen cloth, ruined leather scraps, light leather, strange dust etc, because high levels sometimes just go and buy out the entire AH to send mats to alts to powerlevel crafting. i have both done this scam, and also profited by it... as long as you tell a gm that it is an accident if they ask and also make sure you have a lot of other items up so it looks legit

Ha ha it works sometimes. And skhouri10 how did u sell it for 70g meaning you would have originally sold it for 70s. What realm are u on for linen cloth to be that expensive

Yes, this has been around for a long time and a lot of people do it on purpose. It seems to work quite well on the unsuspecting ^^. While it is not exactly outright bannable, it could still be considered unfair and you could get in trouble with GM's. Similar to the strategies involving bidding on your own auctions (Put a blue on for 1s for 8hrs then log on at 7hrs30min and start bidding like crazy (only a little bit above the last bid). The people will then sit there rebidding in a bidding war, and then you do one bid "accidentally" something like 1200g instead of 12g 00 silver, and hope the person doesn't notice), the GM's don't like it and it could get you in trouble.

Still, it is safe enough to do..
