Ok,just got with this idea,since you have to pay 8 euro to change your name,i think they might be a free way,here it is:
Delete your character who you want to rename,ask a pal of yours to make a new char with the name of your deleted char,now submit a GM ticket about having deleted the wrong character,he will get the deleted one back but since its name is already in use by your pal,he will tell you to choose another one.Hope it helps  | | D3scene |

Most of the time they'll just add an letter to your name, or they will delete your friend's character if it's bellow level 10. |

Rep Power: 2 | | | Just post about a gang on the classifieds on google (Just search up Online Classifieds) Name it what your character was named, and tell blizzard with a link to the post. Make sure the gang post is different than the one you are contacting blizzard on. This way usually works for me. |

Rep Power: 2 | | | well this does work if you are moving realms and you want to change name you simply go onto that server and make a character with your name. Confirmed that this does work as a friend of mine last week had to do it and came up with the name "kneeslasher" *gasps* Im not sure whether this method would work but very risky as blizzard can just say no we can't give you your character back. If you use the arguement well he wasn't that higher lvl anyway then you might as well make a new char with your desired name! it would be quicker than waiting for gms to respond -.- |

Rep Power: 1 | | | yes this does work on retail. a friend switched servers and accidentally entered Thegame as his character's name. so he deleted his char (an epic 70 mind you) and i made a lvl 1 char with the name Thegame. so he petitioned a GM on a new char and said that actually his vengefull sister deleted his character. the GM bought it and a few seconds later he said that the name Thegame is taken and he must choose a new one, but he will only be able to add 1 letter to the new name "or use the Change Name feature like everyone else". so since then he is known as Thegamez. |

And one they could say you did this on purpose and then they will not get your character back and if is a character that has high levels your screwed so....Do not even bother with this
