Epic flying

When i wanna learn epic flying it will cost me 5000 G. Now several people telling me its only 2000 G. How about this? Do i need to be exalted with some faction r what?? I could use my epic for my farming hunter so plz can any1 tell me the true story about this

Rep does affect the costs with most things, if you get exalted with The faction that sells it, you may be able to get it cheaper (But only the mount itself, training is always the same cost)

5k gold no matter what rep wont affect anything and if it did it would change it by like 50 g... lol

Every level above Friendly with a faction reduces vendor costs by 5%. At exalted, the discount is 20%. Flying mount trainers for both Alliance and Horde in Shadowmoon Valley have no faction alignment (excluding PvP enemy rule for opposite faction). As a result, they offer no discount. If they were grouped with, say, Orgrimmar and Ironforge respectively, the training for Epic skill would reduce to 4000 gold, which it doesn't.

There is a possibility that the launch/development of Wrath of the Lich King or further expansion packs would cut down the price for epic flight training. Remember though, epic flying mounts are not a must-have item. They give you a standard flying mount to access Tempest Keep or the Skyguard Skettis assault area. There is no requirement for everyone to get the 5000 for super-fast flight speed.
