Thumbs up [GUIDE] HOW-TO : Compile the *NEW* ArcEmu and Pull your Core to update Yours !!

    Hello D3Scene Members,

Zacro here, I am a newly found Mod for the WoW section of D3Scene, and I wanted to post a little guide for all of you to learn how to compile ArcEmu since they have changed and started using CMake and such. Please follow this guide, and it will work, I promise. Lets get started :

    Programs to Download :

    C++ Visual

    TortoiseSVN

    CMake

After you have downloaded and installed the above listed programs, then we will begin to start working on getting an updated core.

STEP I : Pulling the Sources

Make a folder on your desktop, and call it whatever you wish, for this tutorial, I will use MyCore. Now that you have the new folder, "MyCore", on your desktop, you can now right-click on it, and click on SVN Checkout. Once you have done that, a window will popup that looks like this :

In the "URL of Repository" space, put ArcEmu's SVN Address which is :
    https://arcemu.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/arcemu/trunk/ .

Make sure that Head Revision is checked, and Click "OK".

(It will not take too long to download the sources, this all depends on your pc specs and internet connection.)

STEP II : Building the Sources

    Now, Open CMake.
Once you have opened CMake you will then see a screen that looks like this :

Fill it out as follows :

    Code:
Where is the source code : C:/Users/Home/Desktop/MyCore/cmake
**Remember the folder that we made in the beginning was "MyCore". You are directing it to the CMake folder in that folder that you downloaded the SVN into.**

    Code:
Where to build the binaries : C:/Users/Home/Desktop/build
**Leave this one the way it is**

Once you have done this, Then you will click on "Configure" . It will tell you that the "build" directory doesn't exist. Do you want it to create it for you ? YES you do. Then, It will tell you when the Configure is done.
After you do that, look in the center where all of the red is highlighted, scroll down until you see this :

**********THIS IS WHERE YOUR CORE FILES WILL BE ONCE WE ARE DONE !!! REMEMBER THIS DIRECTORY**********

Now, Click on "Configure" one more time, and all of the red color will now go away.
After that is done, Click on "Generate". Let it run until it is finished.

STEP III : Compiling the Core

Now, Open the folder "Build" that CMake has made for you. In that folder, you will see an ArcEmu.sln. Open that with the compiling program that you downloaded above which was Visual C++ 2010. Once you have done that, you will see a screen that looks like this :

At the top of the window, you will see where it says "Debug" next to the little green arrow. It is a drop-down box. Click on that, and change it to "Release".
Then Click the Green arrow next to it, and let it do it's magic.

After this is done, go back to the "build" folder that it made for you, (Same place you found the ArcEmu.sln, and open the INSTALL VC++ Project. Open that with your compiling program.
Once you have done this, look on the left side of the window, and right-click on "INSTALL", then goto "Project Only", and click on "Build Only Install" Like this :

FINAL STEP : GETTING YOUR CORE FILES THAT ARE NEEDED

Ok, you remember that directory in the CMake window that I said in BIG RED TEXT to remember ? This is where your core files are. The Default I believe is C:/Program Files/Arcemu . However, go there, and open the file, and you should see the following files and folders :
    • Modules Folder
    • Tools Folder
    • libeay32.dll
    • libmysql.dll
    • logon.exe
    • world.exe
Take these files, and put them in your server, and your core will be updated. I hope that you all like this guide, as it took me about an hour to do it up. I really do hope it helps you all, and enjoy. If I missed anything, please let me know as it was very late when I made this lol.

    Regards,
    <WoWMod>Zenc

Thanks Bumble, I am glad to be apart of the Mod Team. I tried my best to elaborate on everything that I thought would be a little complicating for others. I really hope it does justice for others.
