It looks long, but its nothing!
This is the easyest way to avoid any patches in
WoW without going through that wait when you need to wait for your private server to update to a patch so you can play.
--(1) go to your
WoW folder
>most commonly locted:
-->(a) start
-->(b) my computer
-->(c) local disc c;
-->(d) program files
-->(c) world of warcraft
-if not there try local disc d; (if you have another hard drive like me)
(or browse around files like documents and settings, shared files, and
your computer's documents (Ex: mine is Cris's documents)
--(2) minimize your
WoW folder and delete the
WoW icon from your desktop (this will not delete
WoW)
--(3) look in the folder, you should see two icons that looked like the one on your desktop --
Wow and Launcher not look the same and say:
world of warcraft blizard entertainment
--(4) right-click the one that says
Wow and hit create shortcut..
it should scroll to a new icon at the botom of your
Wow folder that
says
Short Cut to Wow
--(5) drag it onto your desktop, and boom... you no longer need to hit play on the box that comes up when you click
wow. It will now bring
you to the black screen that you put your Acc. and Pass. in.
Whats so great?
---When you click the play thing it links to the blizzard site and makes
you download the new patch
---but when you do this you just type in the account and pass and it
won't download. When the server updates open your folder and click
the launcher one and it will update when you hit play
---The only way you can update by this function is if you "accidently"
type the real
wow realmlist in. That also causes an update.
