WoW Wotlk private servers (Client 8391 Mangos)

This is a MaNGOS based WotLK alpha server. The WotLK patch was first made by [TOM_RUS] but after he stopped working on it the first few days I continued with it (so credits to him too). Now the server has working death knight, working death knight spells and armor and also some spawns in northrend.

First of all you need WotLK Alpha Client build 8391/8392, download link below.


With this you can make your own wotlk private servers!

This server started at version 1.0, you can get the latest version below.

What's new in v1.9:
*Attack power should be fixed now
*Some more small fixes for rune system
*Some console errors fixed
*DK's Heart strike now has a global cooldown
*Starting place moved to a better place in howling fjord
*added some spawns at the new starting place + one more quest
*Army of the Dead should now be fixed (not tested)

What's new in v1.8:
*Rune system works! (Thanks to Kaldorei for helping out)
*Updated to latest MaNGOS core 6055
*DK's death coil should now work
*Only one presence can be used at a time (frost presence etc)


What's new in v1.7:
*Some fixes for Runic power.(temp fix) They can be casted but with no cost, until its fixed 100%
*Players will now start with full weapon skills
*Death Knights will not anymore start with low hp
*added a weapon master at the shopping mall (Thanks to Zilver)
*Client crash fixed when completing quests
*Quest log display bug fixed
*Updated to latest MaNGOS Core (6040)
*other small fixes

I haven't added any more custom spawns in northrend. Waiting for more official information and then replace them with blizzlike.

I have decided to stop releasing this server for public, so versions over v1.9 wont be posted here. I'm just tired of all leechers that post this on other forums and claiming they made it etc. Thanks to the people who actually helped with fixes, support and stuff (Zilver, newfang, mach1920 etc) and sorry about this.

Guide on how to setup the server:

First Install:
1. Download & extract the server files.

2. Go into your server folder and open Database (Full) and extract FullDB.rar into the current folder.

3. Extacting the maps...
a. Take ad.exe from \server folder\map extractor\ and place it in your WotLK folder.
b. Create a folder called maps in your WotLK folder and run ad.exe.
c. When ad.exe has finished, move the maps folder to your server folder

4. Installing & configuring MySQL...
a. Download & install MySQL 5.0 (MySQL :: MySQL 5.0 Downloads).
b. Run MySQL Server Instance Configuration Wizard.
c. Choose Stanard Configuration.
d. Choose a password and remember it!

5. Adding your sql databases using Navicat...
a. Download & install Navicat Lite (Navicat - the World's Best MySQL Front End for Windows, Linux & Mac OS X)
b. Make sure your MySQL service is running.
c. Start Navicat Lite for MySQL.
d. Go to File > New Connection.
e. Name the connection and add the password you choose when configuring MySQL and click Ok.
f. Right click on your connection and click on Open Connection.
g. Right click on your connection and click on New Database and name is characters.
h. Right click on the database characters and click on Open Database.
i. Right click on the connection and click Execute Batch File....
j. Click on ... and point it to \server folder\Database (Full) folder and select the file characters.sql.
k. Click Start and wait for it to finish.
l. Repeat parts g to k with the databases mangos and realmd.

6. Configuring your Mangos server settings...
a. In your server folder open mangosd.conf.
b. Find 127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;realmd and change the text in red to your MySQL password.
c. Find 127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;mangos and change the text in red to your MySQL password.
d. Find 127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;characters and change the text in red to your MySQL password.

7. Configuring your Mangos realm settings...
a. In your server folder open realmd.conf.
b. Find 127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;realmd and change the text in red to your MySQL password.

8. Start mangosd.exe and realmd.exe.

9. Creating a new account...
a. In mangosd.exe type create account password (where account is the account name and password is the account password).
b. To allow the account to access TBC, type setbc account 1 (where account is the account name).
c. To allow the account access to GM commands, type setgm account 3 (where account is the account name).

10. Point your WotLK to your Mangos server...
a. Go to your WotLK folder and open realmlist.wtf in notepad.
b. Add # at the start of both lines to comment each line out.
c. Add a new line with the exact text set realmlist 127.0.0.1

11. Start WotLK and login!

Updating the databases:
a. Start Navicat Lite for MySQL.
b. Right click on your connection and click on Open Connection.
c. You will need to open all databases that are to be updated. To do this right click on a database and click on Open Database. If you are unsure which databases need to be updated then you should open all of the databases in the connection.
d. Right click on the connection and click Execute Batch File....
e. Click on ... and point it to the .sql database update.

And Mike , I have my server still on version 1.4 because wanted to ask you if i update over 1.4 it will delete my data? Because I got custom weapons , vendors and mobs spawned and I don't wanna loose them ... so how can I update without loosing them?

For those upgrading from v1.4, you need to replace all of the new .dll, .exe, and .dbc files. Also, the mangos.sql and talent update sql included are the only ones that need to be run on the databases. Any custom items may be deleted however, so you may want to make a backup first. Also, use ad.exe in the client folder after applying the new patch and replace the maps in the server folder.
